  1. Keegan’s results were league only, not consecutive matches in all competitions
  2. They were more exciting - I know the 95/96 team closer but they weren’t ’The Entertainers’. 93/94 and the first half of 94/95 was that side - proper swashbuckling attacking football. The formation suggests a 4-4-2 but in attack it was more like a 4-1-5.
  3. No, it never reaches zero - even Lascelles will still have a small amount of amortised book value. It will be so small as to basically be worthless, but it will still have a value.
  4. They're not all off the books, though they will have been reduced significantly. Willock will be about 5m per season, Joelinton will be around 2m per season, and BDB just shy of 3m. Hardly breaks the bank, but it never gets to zero until the player leaves. edit: sorry JB, just saw your list after I posted. Joelinton will still have around 2m to be added, though. Amortisation for NUFC is running at close to 100m last I checked.
  5. Folks need to make sure they ignore the wank in the press and just enjoy every minute watching this lad in B&W, whether it is six months or six years. He's the best centre forward I've seen in B&W, R Madrid must be fucking kicking themselves paying MBappe whatever stupid fucking salary and signing on fee he's on (something like 50m per year) when they should have taken that money and bid 200m for this lad.
  6. Re KK / BR / EH, Keegan and Howe sit above Robson for me. Howe can’t outstrip Keegan emotionally by winning trophies, because ultimately KK saved the club and rebuilt it - though I suspect Howe is a better football manager. If Howe wins a trophy, he should have a bronze statue outside the ground - even if he’s followed by men who win far more, breaking that trophy duck would be the biggest one of all - but Keegan should have a stand named after him. That’s the difference for me.
  7. Given the way the team is playing and performing the questions were absolutely reasonable - there was an awful lot about how mediocre the squad was and Howe was doing well to have it challenging top 7/8. Personally, I felt we had a really strong starting XI and a decent bench, and should have been playing and performing much better. Howe’s an excellent coach, was never in any doubt re that, and I never joined in the calls for his time to be up - but just as he deserves every bit of praise lavished on him at the moment, he also deserved some of the criticism for early season performances. It’s a wide open league at the moment, and if we’d got our shit together a month earlier we might have a very different trophy being talked about this season.
  8. We didn’t play well and they lost 3-0. They’re where they should be on that basis
  9. The ones who are good have gone. These are the Iberian Obertans, Gouffrans and Rivières.
  10. It’s like when we were France’s PL showroom
  11. Seen enough unlucky 0-1s to more than make up for it
  12. It was very tight - only parts of the body which can play the ball can be offside
  13. International commentator now selling Isak for us
