  1. Commercials aren’t driving that
  2. something something Man City case
  3. There hasn’t been any serious PIF-related sponsors for three years at this point. I wouldn’t hold my breath for many changes any time soon - folks are just going to be charged more. And modern football doesn’t like the idea of ST holders.
  4. I just players who perform consistently in a B&W shirt tbh, rather than folks thinking they’re the second coming after an excellent cameo once in a blue moon
  5. I’m glad Eddie has a better understanding of football than calendars
  6. You’re taking about people who claim Newcastle Airport is outside of Newcastle, yet don’t understand how - if that even was the case - it isn’t a ‘win’ for them.
  7. I think I’d view him the same as Osula (despite a cracking winner) - ultimately jot good enough but we’d likely be able to sell for a profit and help progress the club. As it stands the lad is a massive albatross around the neck - and while that isn’t on him, it doesn’t detract from the fact that he’s been a stupendously poor buy to date.
  8. 100% we did. It was him regurgitating the same old bollocks. Ask the current owners how much debt we had - they had to pay it off as part of the purchase of the club.
  9. I can forgive Shola for trapping a ball further than he could ever pass it, but … “You look at the amounts of money you need to pay to buy superstars now….Mike Ashley has come out and said he hasn’t got the funds to do that…to compete with Manchester City and Liverpool. “He is a businessman, and unfortunately for the Newcastle fans, he wants to run his business in a way that is sustainable. “Credit to Mike Ashley…because you look at the likes of Aston Villa, and these clubs who are struggling financially. “The one thing that Mike Ashley has done for Newcastle over these last ten years, is to stabilise the club – where the club is running itself and we’ve got no debt. “That’s credit to Mike Ashley but obviously fans of a football team want to progress year on year, they want to see big players. “We can be quietly happy with our business” I always felt that ‘we can’t compete with Liverpool and Man City’ cop-out in a Geordie accent was catnip to the press. So testicles to him.
  10. Our current league position represents failure. Theirs is their greatest achievement this century. We’re one position apart. Nowt more needs to be said, lads and lasses.
  11. Their owners have spent years trying to fuck us and the rest of the league - so fuck them. The funniest part of them going down is the laughable notion that the cunts thought they didn’t deserve to even be relegated from a European Super League, never mind the English top flight. I’ve nothing more against their support than any other club I don’t care about, but their owners can get to fuck.
  12. The ultimate rhetorical question. Of course it’s revenue. Leicester has won as many trophies as Spurs this century
  13. 😁 (which he bottled with a defender closing in)
  14. He’s the third most expensive signing in our history and in the age of PSR this has an enormous impact. This isn’t the days where you make a mistake in the transfer market and you just try again in the summer - you’re lumbered with the consequence for years afterwards. He’s nowhere near a £55m footballer, and while it’s good that he looks thoroughly average rather than complete dogshit, we didn’t pay £55m for thoroughly average.
  15. Mind if they have to @Wallsendmag as a fellow Barrett / Toon Travel veteran; they should play a proper NUFC celebration tune:
  16. Aye, 100%. I love fan-led stuff - Wor flags etc are fucking magic. But Barry in the Box pumping out the choons? Nah
  17. It’s the slippery slope to goal music
  18. I said before it he’ll play well and he did, and I stand by the reasons too. Nothing like a shop window to shake a performance out of the lad.
  19. TBF I know exactly what Wissa will say to all of his critics
