What I will say though is that part of the takeover push was the notion of ‘regional investment’, if I remember correctly. Tarting up that part of the city wouldn’t be the worst way of doing that.

Yeah, I know. I was kidding

As did I - and I was only kidding (Google maps isn’t any source of truth)

I’ll get pedantic (yes, I know the Quayside isn’t really the city centre ) Though the arena would be closer to most of the city’s watering holes. Not sure what being closer to Eldon Square means in terms of a matchday experience.

The arena is roughly the same distance from the city centre as SJP

Agreed. Longstaff’s absence that day was really noticeable, too. The protection he offered to Trippier was missed. -

Seem to remember that it was Trippier and Schar who had shockers, not Burn. ‘Funnelled possession’. Christ. There’s some right pretentious wanker posted online these days. -
Haha is it still rough as guts? Haven’t been in for about 20 years

Glad the owner told you and no-one else. Good old Yasir

Maybe those who always offered to move Leazes Terrace brick-by-brick to Beamish could use those skills to move the Strawberry to a Skinnerburn Road?

I try to ignore that Howe is one of those types. He’s read ‘The Secret’ and all that type of stuff. If it works for footballers, great. I’d want to ploat anyone who went on like that at my work though.

That bit is funny. Easy for us to forget that Chelsea are the most successful English club in Caicedo’s lifetime.

In fairness there is more to it than that - Spanish, German and Italian players aren’t exactly dotted around Europe. The strength of the domestic league - especially how much you’ll earn - has a massive impact. Almiron still can’t speak fluent English, despite most of career being spent in two different English-speaking countries. I do think it would be good for more British players to play overseas - as many did in the ‘80s and early ‘90s - but I do understand why it is rare these days.
