  1. I haven’t forgotten - but that was atrocious. Either way I don’t like a two-tier structure in football. I’m actually ok with human beings getting things wrong, and ok with me getting annoyed by exactly this thing happening.
  2. This is the game where I’d rest as many players as possible with a view to overturning any deficit in the home leg - even if it is the biggest competition in football.
  3. He might be selling insurance or something these days but Geoff Hurst put THREE past you bastards
  4. How many did Hovagod have last night then? If you’re counting?
  5. Stopping WFH is the mediocre executive’s go-to when they rock up promising things and deliver the square root of fuck all.
  6. I got emotional watching them. When you’re in exile on the other side of the world, and you see such fantastic representatives of who you are and where you’re from. Young and old lads alike were there displaying their bad Indian ink daubings and moobs for all the world to see. Thank you for your service, lads.
  7. Edward Howe on VAR and refereeing: “I think there’s an argument to say that, because when VAR is there, there’s always a, ‘Well, I won’t give that, but let’s check it’ “And I think then your decision-making maybe isn’t as sharp as it may normally have to be so maybe there’s a difference there. “I’m always torn on VAR. I said this many times because I still love the emotion, even tonight, when a goal is given and you don’t see a flag or a referee, it’s a goal, and no-one’s going to take it away from you. “That joy that you get in that moment, I still really love and VAR takes it away. But then on the other side, I was wishing there was VAR on the first goal against us, and probably throughout that game. “I think it does give accurate results. It does make the game more concise in terms of decision-making and those moments, you have to respect that they’re worth their weight in gold, especially for us today, when we’re on the wrong side of it. “So I’m still very much torn on it. “The officials don’t make any (wrong) decision on purpose. It’s what they think at the time. But with without VAR, I thought there was a lot of errors.”
  8. Any football ‘fan’ who says that they’re happy to be out of the FA Cup isn’t a football fan full stop
  9. Oh aye definitely ‘we need help to see that a player five yards inside the box is five yards inside the box, even if two of us are standing close enough to never make that mistake’.
  10. I think you’re right - but I still don’t think he had a particularly good game tonight. Wasn’t a passenger, which is an improvement.
  11. 100%. The match was also better generally, much more blood and thunder. Just shit refereeing, too many of these cunts are used to not making decisions anymore.
  12. My late uncle would still rant about the day he went to Brighton and Trelford Mills was refereeing as the worst ref performance ever. For me before tonight it was Derby away in 1992 and Forest away in 2016. This beats those comfortably
  13. The only thing that stopped it being questionable re corruption is that I thought Trippier was very, very lucky when he brought down Watkins. Looks more like complete and utter incompetence rather than bent.
  14. If we’re going to be playing 4-3-3 most weeks then we should.
  15. Absolute barnstormer from the manager here - it’s only a dogshit officiating performance that made this as a contest for a while. Fucking great stuff
