  1. There definitely was footage of Pele being shite
  2. For a new training ground or for a new stadium?
  3. Tbf that Salty FK home win in 92/93 was very wet, but it was warm that day too (well, warm for the NE anyway)
  4. England really has had a conveyor belt of that type of winger for a couple of decades
  5. Hall was targeted by Liverpool too and made mistakes resulting in goals conceded. Teams target our LB on a regular basis. He's a young lad with lots of scope to improve, but right now he's a long way short of 'top four'
  6. I'd sell any of them for the right money, though it would hurt losing Isak the most. If we don't sell, we're not going anywhere
  7. Probably need to let Howe know that - I get the distinct impression that Howe wants final say on all transfers.
  8. Yep, it is a gloriously camp film. The 1980s BBC TV series was much better quality-wise - but the entire premise remains joyously daft
  9. “I want to be, by the toaster …” Absolute classic
  10. Jesus. This isn't a Man Utd thing, but a socio-economic thing. That is completely fucked.
  11. Ashworth will never watch it again. It would be like a shipwreck survivor watching Titanic
  12. He's a 'moneyball' wanker. It is all about stats pish instead of a real understanding of the game. Johann Cruyff once said he could shut his eyes and know if a player was great by the sound of the player's boot striking the ball. I remember reading Beckenbauer talking about not ever wanting to select a player who has to look down in order to visualise controlling the ball. Ashworth will no doubt have spreadsheets coming out of his arse. Ultimately, it is all meaningless if you don't know what you're looking at.
  13. He just came across as an obvious chancer to me from day one. We looked gullible for taking in his 'spokes in the wheel' pish. I'm not all that upset that those who appointed him are not appointing his successors ...
  14. Don't listen to him. He's making mulch of a mulchness
  15. I'm hoping that The Day of the Triffids has some basis in fact tbf
  16. I'll try a genuine haiku: Dan Ashworth eternal gardener Tried to appoint Southgate to ManU job Now his spokes are broken
  17. Reminder - for all the schadenfreude, this says fuck all about those at our club who appointed the gobshite in the first place. Radcliffe is a buffoon, but we need to ensure we aren't taken in by this type of wank again.
  18. That reads like a haiku or something. There's something poetic about it.
  19. I remember getting a wee bit of criticism on here when I suggested the same when he was here. Personally I always felt he was a snake oil salesman. This has made my day.
  20. Tbf TCD I'm not absolute on these things - it was more a general point. I actually think that 6th-8th/9th is more like par, but this is 'angels dancing on the head of a pin' stuff. Results aren't in that space, and performances are well below it.
  21. Honestly mate, I think both positions are likely to be true - Radcliffe is a basket case, and Ashworth is simply a competent (and over-glorified) administrator
