  1. It won’t help us strengthen this summer at all - we got the revenue this season, not next season. We’ve spent our CL money - that’s how you’ve been able to enjoy watching Wissa and Elanga this year.
  2. They don’t care about qualifying for it, the top players want to win it. If Villa had finished 5th then 6th would’ve qualified. The bar is pretty low for qualification these days - playing in it is hardly a massive achievement.
  3. Agreed, there’s zero track record to go off. Could be brilliant, but there’s nowt to back that up. We’ve never felt like we’ve taken the idea of being actually elite seriously.
  4. Everyone has to start somewhere, no idea if the lad is clued up or not
  5. She did too - and he was her appointment. Lets hope we’re now being run by more competent folks.
  6. Oversaw the FFP fuck up which led to the sale of Anderson, and his only significant appointment was Mitchell
  7. Eales was a poor appointment, and I hope he’s winning his battle
  8. Fair play for taking a TBG post seriously
  9. ‘Balloons, clocks, frisbees, yo-yos … are you with me so far, Davey boy? … pizza cutters. We need to make that crest rounderer’
  10. ‘No, the Michelle Collins mask is just a kink love, you’ve nowt to worry about’
  11. Lost on me tbh. Don’t hold a strong opinion one way or another, seen Arsenal win it enough times for this to warrant nowt more than a shrug. I find them significantly less offensive than Chelsea, for example. I also didn’t go doe-eyed at Blackburn or Leicester winning it.
  12. I used to like watching Seaman getting lobbed in the box
  13. They might be crowned champions of Europe in a couple of weeks’ time, which suggests that they might actually be fairly decent.
  14. I honestly didn’t realise anyone found Seaman likeable - I always thought he looked like he enjoyed the smell of his own farts. And not in a justified way, like lying in bed with a hangover after ten pints of Stella and taking pleasure in a good beer fart.
  15. This isn’t even the worst Arsenal team I’ve seen win it *shudders at the thought of George Graham’s 90/91 side*
  16. 94/95 wasn’t similar to this one tbf - we just had a bad final month of the season. We also knew that the obvious issues in the side (no LW with Sellars constantly injured; no top CF after the sale of Cole; a new GK) would be fixed in the summer. The team still looked good and played well. This season has been pretty awful, and there is a lot of fixing needed.
  17. Swindon have previous of being kicked out of playoff matches for irregularities of course, the useless twats
  18. You could well be right, though I suspect the reason the regs might change will be to allow leagues to play matches overseas. So let’s hope not
  19. Using Murrayfield would breach UEFA regs, it would likely be blocked - Wembley is in England. It is a non-starter.
  20. Burst out laughing on the train at that
  21. Also, if you need to send a scout to hide in a tree with an iPhone to work out that 6’7” Dan Burn might just be a target from a corner, then you probably don’t deserve to be paid millions as a manager or a head coach.
  22. Yep, we were always a ‘stepping stone’ to them - but then, they were always sellable assets to us. That we haven’t been particularly ruthless sellers is more the issue.
  23. If it was a couple of games it might be argued it was an exceptional case - but otherwise, the regs don’t allow it. Besides, if it was just a handful of matches, why not just use the Safe Cracker Arena down in Darlington? It’s half SJP’s capacity, but at least half the ST holders would be able to watch it.
  24. Completely agree - I don’t think the lad has kicked on or developed in the way we might have hoped. I suspect if he played for a smaller club he wouldn’t be in the England reckoning at present. It is worth selling him when there’s time left on his contract and there would be interested parties with the cash.
  25. I don’t think Murrayfield is even possible under UEFA regs - Welsh clubs playing in England fall under the governance of the FA. Berwick play in Scotland of course, but they’re also under the full governance of the SFA. So unless we plan on joining the Scottish league, we won’t be playing home games in Edinburgh any time soon.
