Yeah im in gallowgate and there were a few a handful only booing. I thought the crowd were awful last night - very tense and quicker than normal to moan or whinge.
-
That was embarrassing- first half especially - quarter final of the cup ffs. I don’t know what the answer is but I actually feel so low despite the win. I can accept spectators (we’ve always had them) but people booing at HT in the fkin gallowgate and whinging at attacks stalling when we’re level . I give up . Cunts the lot of them
-
I know mate it was mainly rhetorical plus TF staffers / former NUST with the right bedroom partners contacts
-
One positive from Sunday - we found about £17 in £1s and 50 ps outside the ground at FT presumably from mackems chucking coins at us in the escort- this was without really looking either... From the hyprocrite clowns who were calling Coventry they've a few object hoyers of their own.
-
And people complaining (lots of NUST chatter) about being kettled etc. at St Peters - again not saying its right but if Sunday's policing was a surprise then I am doubting you're a seasoned traveler. Mind having said that the limiting of 9am openings in town probably aligned with more common sense / middle class fans meant our I hardly saw anyone drunk - that to me is just weird at a 2pm kick off away at sunderland
-
True but there were people saying it was their first away derby - how ffs??
-
I was there on Sunday and I saw a few lads I haven't seen that much over the last few years but know them all from going on Billy Swifts, KBs or John the Badges bus in 2000s. All have done the hard yards but like me now are all wrong side of 40 and have other commitments - work, kids, wife , mortgage etc. we all like a drink and are vocal fans but we don't go all the time, we don't go together any more and we are not as radge (it happens with age - its called growing up / calming down) as we wee when we were 16-25 - we need replaced and you generally don't see the lads that we were anymore... I said in an earlier post there were lots of these lads on wallsend high st when I got back after the derby - maybe not sunderland away but in the leaner years pre ID checks they would have been on the buses to wigan, blackburn, bolton, west brom, burnley, everton, liverpool (the cheaper bus firnedly trips) etc. they're not now
-
Agreed and most people against it now weren’t bothered that much about going back back then including some with public profiles - who want to belong to something they were never really a part of and are culpable for dismantling the very thing they’re chasing.
-
I came back to wallsend high st after the match and the queens and anchor were packed with young lads who’d been out since 9/10am on the drink and love the club - they were adamant we’d smash them back at SJP - and jealous I’d gone. They were lads who’d have gone to aways in the past when there was avenues open to non ST holders but now have given up hope. someone said earlier NUST fucked it - it’s not quite that simple but there’s a lot of truth in that. They also reneged on promises to represent fans who jacked in under ashley as regards to trying to keep loyalty points. the NUST board is different now so I’d give them a fair chance but previous boards were ravaged by self interest (the Tory TF lot mainly)

I know we have fellow mouth breathers who do the same but I will never understand why hundreds of grown men and women line the outskirts of the stadium to film us getting marched in - would you not just go for a pint. You can understand the burberry clad teens (funny as fk when one got hit square in the face with a can mind) posturing etc. as they're young and daft and too little to get served in a pub but the rest ... oddballs to a man / woman.

I was still i the concourse - and I didn't hear them - we only knew they'd scored as it came up on sky... I agree with what people saying about nerves and old timers - was good to see some old faces and I fall into this camp now of having enough points to gurantee a ticket for this but don't go away as regularly as I did 15-20 years ago. I still sing mind. How do some of the True Faith lot still et tickets - no way does Sam Dalling have 124 points or as a journo does Culkin sort him out too???

Aye I have cheers

I think I’ve picked ! @Groundhog63can you chrvk I’ve done it correctly pls?

And it was betting patterns around our earlier five nil victory v Swindon in the fa cup earlier that started the investigations into their financial impropriety. we fucking helped them up ! in hindsight given what appended a couple of years later it was a blessing in disguise we lost the play off semi.

I mean no Tonali, Hall or Tino is just clueless.

Just sent a fiver mate 👍🏼

You still et into the match the holder just loses the points - at least that's what happened to someone I knew...

Live and let live. People have been going to matches after imbibing something to improve their mood / lubricate their voice / sort their PMT (pre match tension) for decades. I appreciate if you need a shite it’s prob annoying. What’s ironic is when I was a younger lad and would have a bit of toot to keep me going it usually made me desperate for a shit almost immediately - maybe 2 birds one stone fir the cubicle hoggers?

Few brass band aficionados too as a few lads were discussing the various qualities of their bugle
