im not a lawyer but do review contracts as part of my job. I’d be arguing “contra proferentem” might apply here. In contract law when a term is ambiguous the party that didn’t draft it should be favoured.

I imagine that there is quite a drain of younger people from the city tbh - there's not many opportunities bar Nissan and the university is manly locals and overseas students (who leave once their courses / visas end) who don't have a connection with the club so wouldn't go if it was free (which it has been in the past / premier league opposition might change this). Without checking I'd imagine demographically Sunderland is top heavy on age as well as diversity compared to most UK cities.
