  1. I liked Barnes when he came on, particularly that he doesn’t look at all flustered in possession. Sort of like how Wijnaldum did, just protects the ball well.
  2. Don’t think Isak could take a breath without being smothered by city players, he was way too isolated.
  3. It was weird, like you could see passes that you expect him to try and it was like he’d turn away from them and play safer.
  4. For whatever reason he seemed to not want to play the riskier/more progressive passes he was constantly playing previously.
  5. We won't ever know ultimately, but my feeling is he would have. I think it's a real shame he's chosen this route. Not that he's alone in it
  6. Maybe but I'm sure he could have stayed in Europe, he will have had offers, they got him pretty cheap. Not long ago he wanted to win the Ballon D'or. Now he's basically put paid to his career prospects. He's an explosive player who already accumulates injuries, once age hits him, it's over.
  7. Chucked his career sadly. His perogative of course, but he's nixed any chances of making the French team or really achieving anything noteworthy in football. Good player to watch, but seemingly unable to make professional decisions. Shame.

I don’t like him in terms of his affiliation with us but he’s spoken well on progressive issues, after he attended a Pride event. Seems a good bloke
  9. Mendy was pretty good for a while. In fact more than pretty good, won GK of the year, 9 clean sheets in the CL. He was really good under Tuchel
  10. I thought it was pretty much universally acknowledged those places were absolutely grim, but clearly that was a mistake on my part.
  11. That’s an incredible success rate under the constraints he was working under. Joselu has to be a hit really considering his career trajectory

He’s in unbelievable shape for his age like.
  13. As is the case in basically every facet of life. That argument is just “curious, yet you live in a society?”. If you take that to it’s natural conclusion, you wouldn’t be able to do anything. People obviously think child slavery is bad but they’ll wear clothes made in sweat shops. They’ll be mad if people kill dogs, but don’t care when it’s cows. That’s just the side effect of consuming things you like in the current system. The PR written about the “zoo” is clearly nonsense btw. It’s owned by one private rich guy who wants to impress influencers. No reputable zoo on earth walks tigers around on chains. https://www.change.org/p/people-for-the-ethical-treatment-of-animals-peta-sauvons-les-animaux-sauvages-maltraités-du-zoo-privé-albuqaish-à-dubai
  14. It’s really annoying, I feel like it’s massively condescending, it’s incredibly annoying to me
  15. Sure but that’s life right? There’s no real way around that.
  16. I mean the difference for me is MBS doesn’t pull on the shirt on a Saturday.
  17. I liked him back in the day on football Italia. That isn’t good imo, just means he has no real affinity with the game, just a way to bolster his profile
  18. Perfect is the enemy of good. It’s not more cruel imo
  19. Idk I’m done with middle class football pundits tbf. I don’t think he gives anything that any remotely intelligent watcher of football would be able to understand
  20. I need James Richardson to correct my pronunciation of any European team
