Do you mean why does it not slam shut before the season starts? It used to, but clubs lobbied the FA/PL to bring it in line with European windows. They were slamming after ours had been slammed. so say isak became available last week, we wouldn’t have been able to buy him as the window had already been slammed. But some European club could buy him. There is always talk of changing our window to match our season start but clubs still think it will disadvantage them. No idea if/why European teams like there window to slam after the season has started though.

The problem is it’s not clear what’s going on. Kluivert couldn’t get FA approval as he could get 15 points required from the 6 criteria to pass the FA permit. with isak it seems to be a problem with the home office not the FA. I don’t think it helps that everyone seems to be using work permit/visa/fa approval interchangeably as if they are the same thing. if it’s the home office that’s causing the blockage, is it possible he has some mild criminal record causing probs. Extremely frustrating.

Rather than clubs hoovering up rubbish foreign players for cheap money and blocking English players coming through, they at least have to have foreign players who have actually played in the top couple of tiers. seems he’s fallen in some obscure crack.

For non EU players yes. After brexit the fa decided to reform the rules to make it easier for non EU and the EU players to pass the test. So post brexit it’s much easier to get South American players and Africans visas. it should be dead easy for the EU players, so until someone spells out why klivert has failed, it’s quite unusual.

It’s an English FA rule nothing to do with the UK.

Think I would like to see it working for at least 12 months first, through various weather/temperatures. something about that whole set up that terrifies me. I can see it not lining up properly or someone disappearing down a join. ? other than that it does look very impressive.
