I haven’t thought this through much, but. for the league cup, the last team to get knocked out from outside the prem, gets auto promotion to the prem at the end of the season. obviously would have to reduce the number of teams promoted from the championship. but it might make it more exciting if league 2 teams have a shot of getting into the prem. Someone would have to work out the logistics, like what if every non prem side got knocked out in the same round.

I think deep down we all knew when he gave those post match comments about his future a while ago, that he wasn’t staying long term. at the time I optimistically put it down to him being shattered after 90 mins of football. but all this smoke and in hindsight does sugguest he’s probably waiting for the right offer to come in and that has been the game plan from day 1. thats not his fault, he’s a footballer with a short shelf life and for all we know he’s spunked his life earnings pre gambling ban up the wall. its football, if he goes I wish him well, as long as he handles it respectfully, unlike isak. i hope he stays, but he needs to up his game next season. No dig taken! I genuinely don’t know how things like this work. I know some clubs prioritise things and some don’t. I know Eddie made that comment that he purposely changed the game plan for the prem game against Liverpool ahead of the final so they wouldn’t be prepared for how we could really play. He was careful to state he dint ‘throw’ the prem game. But his priority was winning the cup final not the prem game and tactics and dark arts as they say were used. these things are never straight forward and I can see the logic of prioritising some games over others, but also understand you should put your best forward in every scenario.

I think the only way to make the technology acceptable is to add a facility to the managers. The managers have a giant buzzer, during the game the manager can press the buzzer only once per game, after a VAR decision has been made. Pressing the buzzer delivers a significant, but non lethal electric shock to the VAR operations team. not only will this make fans and managers feel better, but the Japanese market will love it.

Being Liverpool and the way things have been going, I fully expected conceding 3-4 goals. It doesn’t matter how shit their form is or how well we are, it’s always like that. Feels like a curse. So I wasn’t devastated by the result. i was more bothered by the post match conference and how broken eddie seemed. Genuinely a twinge of worry about the bloke. I think in any other job, his employer needs to say, look take a week off, tindall and the others are well paid and capable of holding the fort. Come back in a week, mentally rested, stronger and ready to get back at it. But that won’t happen as it’s football and Eddie would just say no even if it was offered. Don’t know, really, first time I’ve seen Eddie that down. Not nice to see.
