  1. I just can't get myself to believe that it's going to happen. Somehow I take it for granted that it will be decided on the final day. But I'm just saying that because some people think a draw is the same as a loss, but the 1p can matter a lot too.
  2. I actually think a draw could help us! If we ship some goals past Leicester while Liverpool win by just 1 goal against Villa, 1p here could mean that all we need is a draw at the Bridge. Sure, Liverpool will beat Southampton, but I'm not sure if they will win by 6+ goals. Southampton probably don't want to end the seasong getting humiliated on their home ground, even if they don't have anything to play for. It's the last game, so why not give a little bit of a fight. I actually think Southampton could be more difficult for Liverpool than that embarrasing Leicester game. Not saying they would ever get a point, but maybe it wont be as ugly as we would expect. Soton have lost by more than 3 goals just once all season, and that was a 4-0 defeat away from home against Man City. Now if Liverpool manage to beat Villa by a margin then surely that would be scary.

  4. That could take 2-3 years.. https://www.wruf.com/headlines/2023/02/09/manchester-city-update-investigation-will-take-two-to-four-years-to-complete/
  5. I wish we just bought a CM squad player in january. Didn't necessarily need to be an expensive starter. We were linked to McTominay and some people were upset about it. I think we could've found someone for around £20 mill which could've helped us a lot in the case of injuries.
  6. Right now starting Joelinton in midfield is looking risky too if I'm honest. Hasn't been working out lately.
  7. Why don't we just do like Liverpool? Trippier in the middle! Or even better, Fabian Schär as a nr. 6. On a more serious note I really miss Joe at the left wing. Any chance Anderson might be up for the task? Or is that too much of an ask.. Even signing McTominay in january instead of Gordon could've been massive, he could've filled this Longstaff role now that he's injured. Maybe not as good, but would've helped the balance of the team. Not sure if Man Utd really wanted to sell a squad played in january though, especially to a top 4 rival.
  8. Brighton has played one game more than us the last few weeks, this is their 8th game in 33 days. Amongst those is the 120 minute semi final vs Manchester United. They also have more injuries than us. Aren't they also supposed to be tired?
  9. Maddison seemed to get along well with some of our English lads in the world cup, I also think that he is a possibility regardless.
  10. Makes it easier to negotiate with players and to fight off other clubs from signing them. Other clubs wants Maddison too, but if we can provide CL and they can't, it's obviously a plus. That doesn't mean there's no chance we can land such players without CL. Edit: I see we're discussing who the club will target and not the likelyhood that we will get them. My bad.
  11. If they draw they will be a form team who wants a reaction!
  12. Liverpool hasn't played the greatest of fooball lately, but they allways manage to snatch the win by a goal. They are more clinical than their opponents (much thanks to Salah), and their defending has improved.
  13. Chelsea have 2 very tough fixtures coming up. This can maybe work in our favour? Theyre playing two away games against City and Manchester United in just a week before our game. If they lose both they might get demoralized, but then again a home game at the last day after two losses can also give them motivation to fight for ending on a positive note.
  14. After those 2 goals we invited West Ham back into the game aswell, and they were the better team until we got that 3-1 goal. Strange game where we weren't at our best but still won 5-1 away from home. They gifted us some goals there.
  15. If Liverpool crush Leicester by a real margin, then we can't rely on goal difference anymore..
  16. Hard to keep players if you're not going to pay them well. What happens if a player suddenly gets paid loads more than the rest of the team? Hard to see someone stay competitive at the top long term if they keep losing their key players, even if they keep reinvesting that money. They might do well next year aswell, but I'm not sure about long term. Caicedo was begging to leave in january.
  17. My feelings aswell. Apart from the freakish Tottenham game I can't remember having a good feeling at half time since the Manchester game (since we played very well in the first half).. Nottingham maybe, but there has not been many good first halves lately. On the positive we have showed character and delivered well after the breaks!
  18. What happened to that Klopp investigation? Why is there still no punishment??
  19. 1 clean sheet from the last 15 in the league. If you count the EFL cup then it's probably 1 in 17. We don't concede a ton of chances, but as you say whenever the opponents are getting chances I'm allways anxious.. Good thing we're scoring a lot.
  20. Yeah, our CBs hasn't scored a single goal from corner all season. We are the team with the most corners earned. I hope they are working on this, because it's not just the inability to score, but also we've started to concede corners in 2023. Trippier is great, but do you guys think he has any responsibility? Not that we have better corner takers in the team.. I've just noticed that a lot of the corners are going straight into the first defenders, but maybe that's just me. Also need to add that we did score some corners before these 19 games, it has just been really poor in 2023.
  21. Has anyone else noticed how bad we are at corners lately? I took matters into my own hands to investigate. Last 19 games (since quartefinal vs Leicester at 10th of jan): Corners for: 127 Goals: 1 (Southamptons own goal at 30th of april making it 2-1 for us) (There is an argument for the 1-0 goal vs West Ham at 5th of april, as the final cross came after a corner. It was still well after.) Corners against: 57 Goals against: 5 West Ham, feb 4th (1-1 goal) Bounemouth, feb 10th (0-1 goal) West Ham, april 5th (1-1 goal) Everton, april 27th (3-1 goal) Leeds, may 13th (2-2 goal) (indirect) This results in a 0,79% succsessrate for us (1 in 127), while conceding in 8,77% of the corners against us (5 in 57). This means that in our last 19 games the corners against have been 11 times more lethal than our own corners..
