Larger squad? Not by much. And as I said in my comment, they played their key players pretty much every single game. It's not like they rotated all that much when Mane was there. Mane, Salah, Robertson, van Dijk, Fabinho, Henderson, Firmino, Trent, Matip, etc. Twice a week. Their bench was way weaker than the starters, but they didn't need them that much.

Bournemouth damn lucky to face us at home this gameweek.
-
I edited my comment. Liverpool has played mostly the same players twice a week for some seasons and barely got injuries. They also had an intensive style, and did well. Why does it happen to us when it didn't happen to them?
-
Yes, but we need to look at the reasons for that aswell. Lots of teams has played in Europe without the deepest squad before without getting 10-15 injuries. This is not normal. Liverpool used to play the same players twice a week with an intensive style and they barely got injuries.
-
What about Liverpool in recent years? They didn't have all that much depth either at their best, and played many of their key players every game.
-
West Ham playing mostly the same 11 every week in cup, league and Europe. They barely have injuries.

The Nolan one in extra time had me jumping.

Manquillo is injured, or am I wrong?

Also depends wether we feel like we can buy a cheaper option just for the rotation or if we would rather save the money for an even bigger signing in the summer. We don't necessarily need to spend 40m+ on every transfer, but I can totally get it if we would rather save the money anyways since it's a long term project.
-
I get that we can't sign both. But maybe a loan deal with obligation is possible.
-
I hope we can spend some money in january.. A central defender would be nice, and we need a CM aswell.

I think point of impact matters. The Rashford one is more likely to cause injury to the opponent because the impact is higher up, while Endo kind of steps on his foot.

Surgery needed after his first game back

How do you guys nearly allways end up with these type of signings? Huge price, and then they look useless.
-
Hope he doesn't attempt any sprints again. Dangerous thing to do. Great news though, having an extra winger would be amazing in our situation.
-
I also feel like they are not the same side as last season. Changing manager doesn't really seem to have done them any favours, and they rely on a good managerial fit, because their squad is not really great.

If we consider teams like Chelsea, Brentford, Wolves and West Ham tough fixtures, then there are only 4 teams in the entire league for them to face which would not be a "tough" fixture. Right now I think that the 4 teams i mentioned are kind of in the same bracket, meaning mid to lower mid table. Chelsea is still not looking great, and West Ham has taken 4 points in 7 games. Brentford were in bad form when they faced Bournemouth, but a draw against West Ham on the opening day was decent for them. Wolves is a strange one, because they have struggled a bit against the weaker sides, but they have done fairly well against stronger opponents. Even with our injuries, I think that we should be stronger than 7 of the teams that they have faced. Exception being Spurs, City, Arsenal and Brighton. If we look at top 8, they have faced 5 out of 8, when in total they have faced 11 teams out of 19. It's a little bit tough, but the league is just tough in general at this point.

Thing is CPH need to win, so Man Utd will get space. Edit: wow
-
Don't worry, they allways win it at the very end.
-
Man United winning by 1 goal in another silly game against a weak side? Surprise, who would've thought..
-
Man United to win by 1 goal. If I was betting, I would put my money on that..
-
We still beat Arsenal with many injuries. We still have a better starting 11 than more than half of the league.
-
Draw is not terrible, but we gotta start winning these away games. Can't just say "draw isn't bad" in every single away game. We have won 1 in 5 so far away from home. Their home form is 5 points from 6 games (3 of them at home to Burnley), so in other words they are not really hard to beat.
-
Indeed. And we got 2 points from our last 3 fixtures last season, while this time we got 7 points from those fixtures. We're already up 6 points overall, and it could become 8 points after this one.
