  1. Thought this has been best compilation I've seen of him. He's defiantly seems very comfortable playing forward in those midfield positions as well as wide. Wouldn't be surprised Howe/Ashworth have identified him as someone that can play that hybrid free-role full back we've seen Pep use with Rico Lewis and Cancelo. Would certainly make our set-up much more fluid if we ever wanted to play a that hybrid style 4-3-3, 3-4-3, 3-2-5 with Trippier-Botman-Burn, then Hall being that wingback that overloads into inside attacking areas.
  2. Struggle to see Chelsea are a bigger attraction than us to a player in his situation. He's got Chillwell, Cucarella and whoever else in front of him - he probably sees himself PL ready, so unless their going to give him some stupid size contract, why would he want to stick around there. Wouldn't what Armando Broja is looking like after his injury - happily take him off Chelsea's hands for under £20M if he's anything like what he showed at Southampton prior injury.
  3. Chelsea could be going into this season with a solid amount of their squad coming from their academy over past few years, but instead have just a squad of players brought in for close to a £1Bn? and in no better position for it. Can date this problem going back to losing De Bruyne, Lukaku first time round. Not to say every player has to be the best, but you need a balanced squad - for every Bruno/Tonali, Longstaff has their place. Would boil my piss if I was a Chelsea fan to see players come through the academy, loaned out and then just leave. FFP or not, worth billions or not - surely it's still financially better however rich you are to not have to continually have to sell Peter, to buy Paul. £113M on Lukaku, just to replace Tammy Abraham sold for £40M... Christansen, Tomori, Geuhi all leaving close to one another, replaced with £300-£350M odd on Badiashile, Koulibaly, Fofano, Disasi.
  4. Is he injured? Reading between the lines recon it could be a case of his injury history deeming him not long for the game, and he's getting out as much of his contract possible knowing he may not even get a 2/3 year deal at a Championship on. However true - but when he left Bouremouth it wasn't a huge bust up with Howe as publicised, and just him not wanting to risk injury playing the Covid games ruining his value for a free transfer that summer. Would tie in him wanting that last big contract post Bouremouth if he's been told somewhere in his career that injuries are going to retire him before 32/33...
  5. Not totally confident that they are going to have a hit rate on these players their buying to justify their expense anyway, FFP or not FFP breaches. Poch will always be under-pressure the longer they go without a title, and every week they're outside contention let alone the top 4. Really rate Enzo as a signing that will push them on, but foresee them forever to be in transition and always a 'few key signings away' status Man U have been in for years on end. How many windows before they need to tear up and build again - spend another £400M on a forward line as the fortunes spent on Sterling, PEA, Mudryk, Fofana, Jackson, Nkuku haven't brought Chelsea any closer to winning a title.
  6. 70ish million, aye not peanuts but it seemed nailed on that he was going to move to Man City all summer. Arguably the best young CB in the world. Gvardiol to Man City was sealed up all summer.
  7. Haaland to Man City for pennies on a release clause, then Kovacic and Gvardiol going to City for comparative peanuts just goes to show - it's the agent you know. Ruben Neves playing for Wolves in the Championship - it's the agent you know. I don't trust what's going on at Brighton regarding outgoing transfers - Cucarella, MacAllister, White, Caicaedo, Bissouma, Maupay is not £300-350ish worth of footballer.
  8. Can we stop all talking about FFP for fuck sake? It seems almost all football commentary is based of VAR or FFP. Bores me to death.
  9. Zidane to Real cost £55M once upon a time... That was world class. I think there is more to meet the eye with the £100+ transfer fees.... Liverpool paying £45M for MacAllister, then £100odd for Caicedo seems fishy. Brighton being able to sell for millions and millions seems odd. We sold ASM to Saudi for £25M, but Brighton can sell players hundred million plus. Horrible to think is Hayden, Fraser, Hendrick could be sold to release some FFP.
  10. Fraser Forster - Mark Gillespie Paul Dummett - Pedro Porro Jamal Lascelles - Cristian Romero Emil Krath - Reguilón Ritchie - Ivan Perisic Think we are massively front heavy as a squad. Would trust all these players to not disappoint from Howe - Bentancur, Spence, Sessengon, Holjberg, Maddison, Gil, Dier???, Lo Celso, Solomon - Sanchez as a 5th choice CB, Lloris as a 2/3rd goalie?
  11. Everything about Chelsea's transfer conduct has seemed wrong for years.
  12. Aye, I'm not questioning Kane and Son's ability - more the right players for the team set up Kane was obviously best fit for Spurs. To say he was obviously better than Wilson is unfair. Wilson has worked under Howe for years with Bournemouth, come back from 2 cruciate injuries and then gone to score at a World Cup under Eddie Howe. As much as Kane is suited for Spurs, Wilson is suited for Newcastle.
  13. https://www.90min.com/posts/transfers-worst-signings-football-history-hazard-coutinho-dembele Wouldn't have Diego Costa or Kepa in this list but frightening amount of Chelsea transfers mentioned. Hope to god we don't make a Rodwell-City or Drinkwater-Chelsea transfer!
  14. Never really rated Son. I know he's scored goals for Spurs, but just every time I've seen him play he's just been average. Cliche - but I think he goes missing in games. Wouldn't have him ahead of Gordon, Barnes, Isak, Joe or even Willock on the LW. Edit - FWIW wouldn't have Kane here starting over Wilson or Isak.
  15. Fraser Forster back for FFP reasons - but would take half of their squad on the back of my confidence that this club and Eddie would make them better footballers and actually get them playing to their potential. Our 3rd choice CB is Lascelles - Spurs' is Romero. Porro or Reguilón vs Krath/Manquillo? Ben Davies or Targett/Dummett?
  16. Sooner or later someone has to score 10 in the league.
  17. This now seems the entry level requirement to get a job with Sky/BT/Talksport nowadays - ex-pro or not. Sky Sports has gone massively down hill I think. Watched their video of Neville, Carragher and Howard Webb going round Stockley Park, thought it was cringeworthy and a blatant PR piece from referees association - from the massive VAR on the wall of the canteen to the PGMOL branded weights in their gym. Majority of fans despise VAR. Punditry and analysis of referees bores me to tears. I'd rather a game of football go by without ever noticing or mentioning the officials.
  18. Any club that have Mings and Konza as their first choice CB partnership - doesn't belong in top 17 let alone top 4-6.
  19. Maybe I'm suspicious.... Gundogan to Barca (Ferran Soriano), then Kovacic and Gvardiol to City going under the "meda radar" Newcastle, and a line of clubs would have easily have had Kovacic and Gvardiol for the fees that they are going to Man City.
  20. Anyone able to look into if Gvardiol and Kovacic have the same agent?
  21. Gvadiol/Laporte off the bench vs. Lascelles/Dummett is depressing
  22. Roll-on-Roll-off touchline coaching and 6+ stoppage time will be Sky's new VAR
  23. Nice to see Walker still at City. Couldn't give a toss I ever see Kane play again - but happy that Walker/Bayern didn't happen.
  24. Stating the obvious, but playing against Man City this year is going to be like peak Messi/Barca and Ronaldo/Real where you effectively start 1-0 down already.
