I don't believe Wilson does stand between the centre halfs offering very little, his movement, runs etc are top class. We'd have been creating plenty this season if we had fit wide men and Tonali/Willock in midfield. Second half vs Chelsea for example you could have had any centre forward playing it would have made no difference.

I'm not even sure how it works is this going to be instead of the champions league etc for these teams? Over wise you can't expect the other competitions to arrange their fixtures to suit this nonsense

Not a Haaland level ?. If you had a player of Wilsons ability and they also had the all round game that you're talking about then they'd be worth just as much as Haaland. Wilson is a brilliant centre forward the only real negative is his fitness/injury record or he'd have an insane amount of goals for us. His ratio is already that of a top level striker, I'm not sure if there are many in the premierleague better? We already struggle for goals at times this season, having someone who has a better all round game but scores less would likely make us worse not better.

Hopefully the backlash from this last time is enough to put the English clubs off at least. Think we really need to start joint protesting against the way football is being run. The new champions league changes are ridiculous, sounds like they've ruined a brilliant competition and hardly a word has been said.

Comparing it to Liverpool vs Tranmere is playing it down. It's one of the biggest rivalries in British football and a cup knock out game. Questions will be asked of both Eddie and the team if we get beat as we shouldn't be loosing to these giving the gap in class.

Unfortunately we haven't this season we're out of Euorpe and now out of the League Cup. This game is now also our only chance of silverware.

Not our biggest game but its certainly one of them and loosing this would be our biggest defeat of the season by far. Be a massive bad reaction from the fan base to loose this, whilst the AC Milan game etc I think we just accepted we'd given our all and weren't quite good enough on the night.

Love our manager and love Trippier, he'll be back I'm sure of it. For now though I'd give him a break he really looks like he needs it.

I'm not necessarily saying it's down to the manager, AC Milan for example thought we were very naive especially Schär with his daft forward run. Then again last night Almiron not taking it to the corner in the dying minutes. We need to manage the situation better and learn to play smart. 100% our game management has been poor, hopefully we've learned and gained some good experience going forward.
