The stadium is an issue in my opinion. it's a depressing place to be with poor food options and a lack of drink options. It really is only about the football and there is no pre match atmosphere in the concourse as most people arent there I think if fans were excited to enter the stadium and spent more time in there it automatically leads to a better feeling around, more chants and more atmosphere building. Right now it's still not an option to go in an hour early. You have to go out beforehand, rush over to the stadium and then the fight to the seats. Hopefully with a better pre-match in stadium experience this would improve automatically.

Re Muprhy - If you put a bull in a china shop and everything is broken, do you blame the bull or the man who put it there?
-
it fits a narrative to discredit his influence on many

last year in the 'injury crisis' we had fit players that meant we could comfortably play stronger teams by adapting formation. We explicitly chose not to do this, instead we put round pegs in square holes. We sent Anthony Gordon out to play on more than one occasion when he was either injured or utterly exhausted. We kept players desperate for a rest on the pitch when we were 3 goals up with 10 mins to play. The manager had options and warnings and he ignored them and the evidence was there for everyone to see. Some didnt want to see it. I will always bang on about it but the fact he put his ego with his tactics before having the players fly to Milan, train on the pitch and have that days rest is unacceptable. Not only was it poor for players but the club wasnt shown in the best light, on our return to Europe we weren't there for any press or any exposure, we were training behind closed doors. Wolves (a) was clear we were desperate for fresh legs as we were getting overrun and hammered all over the park, we didnt and we saw how it ended. Chelsea (a) AG was injured in the first half and couldnt move, was sent out unable to run for another 5 - 7 minuted after half time with the same injury. Liverpool (h) we were tiring after dominating and we didnt switch it up or recognise that Darwins pace would roast us. I acknowledge when Eddie gets it right, which is about 60% of the time IMO. However to overlook glaring issues and deficiencies because of what he did in the first 18 months isnt the way forward. The demands for Lloyd Kelly and DCL in summer were a huge warning sign of what we may be looking into and the inability to find a midfield that works with 2 elite midfielders remains a concern. Add to the fact his assistant is a meme and his nephew is a buffer in the club it makes us an embarrassment. Imagine getting in Klopp, Conte et al and them wanting a family member in recruitment. Eddie will do what he does, he will get us top 10 comfortably and we will have very impressive performance and wins against teams who are bigger than us, we may even go on a crazy run again into the top 6, but I dont see how the worrying factors can be overlooked. I'd love for him to adapt and grow as the team does but the last 12 months haven't shown that, they showed the opposite. I will always want an NUFC manager to succeed, but I wont ever overlook what is blatant due to credit in the bank. I just dont see us getting where we want under him sadly

Why is he? because a bigger club, closer to home with more resources offered him a job and he decided to embark on a new career move? Happens everyday in business, football is a business. Really don't get the hate whatsoever

Or know about some of the inner workings of the club…

dont put yourself through this lad, just go for your own sake

Would love this and would always be my preference. I don't think St James' is built for this but at places like Spurs where it has been designed for it, it's excellent. A new stadium is a must for me. St James' will always be home and in the spirit of the club but when you take in more modern venues it really does show its age in the concourse more than in the seats. Did this exact thing for Super Bowl in AZ in 2023 and couldn't ever think of a better way to see sports when it has been done properly.

im the first one to slate the guy so I need to be fair when its called for. Got it right, lets hope we build on this

he would be laughed out the building

no he wouldn’t have played him

if anybody believes a manager is correct for keeping players at home so people cant see his training methods before a Champions League away game, risking tiredness and injury as well as the result then I cant fathom that. Part of the growth journey is exposure through the CL and training at the San Siro, not ego trips. The players and the club come first and always should. Also, no other club has the managers nephew senior in recruitment. You cant honestly believe that is the best individual for the job or in anyway what is best for the club.

Multiple ways to look at this and perversely, all are right in their own way despite them being polar opposite. Last season was a strange one, battered by injuries and still finishing in top half. However evidence would suggest we were our own worst enemy here, actively playing tired and sometimes injured players, refusing to change system to make up for losses and staggering lack of subs when up to save players' energy. You can say we didnt have our best players for part but then when we did we were still (and did now) get sliced open by one pass. However lack of continuity can add to this. Summer transfer window you can look pro Eddie or negatively towards him. In every instance there is rightfully polar opposite views. My views have been made clear since the AC Milan (a) game. For me that was the day I thought that we were going to have issues, especially with injuries. The club is growing and I dont think the actual job of managing in the PL and achieving high finishes is EH's issue, hes very capable of it and he proven that. The issue is there are bigger factors at play that will hamper that ability and I believe, hold the club back both on and off the field

Chris Wood (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Showed what he was in his first half a season in the game against Southampton (a). Great header from an early cross, held the ball up to a decent manner and put a shift in that was invaluable. Missed a chance from what I remember but that was what CW was and is. Still a great bench option and better than the nothing we have now. However we dont cross the ball very well so I think he would be in the same scenario he was before -
Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

See I dont think we have any style at all are are stuck between what we want to be. We have 2 fantastic passers of the ball and ask them to play in ways they cant, a bit like Anderson was. Hope the lad does well, hes technically a lovely player from what he showed in the lower leagues and last few games we have watched -
Allan Saint-Maximin (now playing for Fenerbahce, on loan from Al-Ahli)

The best ability a player can have is availability. But my god when this guy was fit. I said it a bit of a joke last night, but I would still have him back and I'd have him with Jose alongside him if we do ever move on
