  1. I guess Chelsea may see us as competition for European spots next season, so didn't want to strengthen us?
  2. He's been out injured also so I forgot his position also 😅

I don't think we lost to Palace/Parish. We didn't pay over the odds and Palace will get an ever lower fee for Guehi next year. What I criticize is our lack of alternatives.
  4. Cheers. So we only have Schar as RCB. Botman, Burn, Kelly and Lascelles all LCB.
  5. Does Botman play on the right or the left side of central defence? He's been out for so long, I even forgot his position.
  6. We needed a centre half till Botman and Lascelles recovered from injury.

Guehi isn't worth more than £40M, so we would have avoided overpaying. Would really like a 6-month loan deal for a CB though till Botman and Lascelles are back.
  8. The six English teams in Europe this season won't be paired against each other in the next round. My guess is that the broadcasters want to see these teams in the round of 16.
  9. We may be one of the six teams out of 26, so not necessarily a high probability.
  10. I guess Eddie wants to give Krafth and Burn more playing time together ahead of this weekend. Would have liked to see Joelinton rested also after that yellow card against Bournemouth.
  11. Agreed. Would have rather seen Osula start and Isak brought on for the last 20 minutes if needed.

A centre half that Palace bought from Barcelona this summer. Can't see them selling Guehi anymore this window to be honest.

If we get no one else before the window closes, there will likely be quite a few boos on Sunday post-game.

I guess we will get an update about transfers from Eddie after tomorrow's game.

I was thinking about this, and would love to be corrected on it. If the constraint is £105M in cumulative losses over a three-year period, then that's £35M/year. If we can recognize sales right away and amortise player purchases over the duration of their (4-5 year) contracts, then we should be able to spend at least £100M every year in new transfers. Example, buy players worth £100M and give them four-year contracts, you only recognize £25M in losses in the current year and you have room for an extra £10M in other losses.

I mean for Trafford, not Vlacho.

I'm okay with option 3, I just don't see why we would spend £20M on a keeper when this money could be the difference between getting a quality vs an average winger. We have two right wingers, but I don't deem them to be good enough to help us push for Top 4.

So we have five first team keepers and still want to sign another one even when RW and RCB are in urgent need of recruitment?
  19. Eddie isn't known for squad rotation, so my guess is he'd be brought on for the last 30 minutes (also not forgetting possible lack of match fitness).
  20. Shaky at the back. Bournemouth looked like scoring with every attack. Really hoping we can get a solid right-sided centre half this week.
  21. Everton were recently docked two points for breaching PSR by £16.6m. Had we not sold Minteh, would we have been docked more than four points? Even then, the difference in class between Minteh vs Miggy/Murphy may have made up for that deduction...

Aren't there no half decent centre halves that we could sign on loan for six months till Botman and Lascelles return from injury? Don't like the idea of overpaying for Guehi.
