Feels like it was doomed from the get-go. It's clear from this season that the system and tactical style Howe implements and desires requires a mobile striker. I also don't think he would regularly break his 4-3-3 to offer a formation where someone like Wolte would play in-behind a striker. Maybe next year with a full preseason there'll be some evolution but I don't actually believe that, which is why I think it's gonna be pap seeing highlights of this lad in another kit.

What I didn't like was the response regarding Hall. Eddie stated (paraphrasing) he was taken out because we've been too leaky at the back – implicating Hall and Ramsdale with Pope coming in too – alongside the tactical reason for having Burn in vs Arsenal. Now, I'm certain Hall is professional but I can only imagine feeling unfairly done when you've been arguably our best player this season. For someone touted on their man management it feels pretty poor. Hope Hall is back in for Brighton.

Burnley are the yoyo club. Be surprised if they're not near promotion again next season but feels like they're one bad manager away from a couple year stint down there. Parker wasn't bad, he's just overly pragmatic and that's limiting in the PL. Doesn't help when your squad is shite too. Recent experience tells us you need to buy loads of players (Forest, Mackems) to stay up but feels like that's risky.

Number of replacements we need this summer is staggering. Hoped Tonali would stay longer but if he does want off then get the max and start talking to replacements if that hasn't begun already.

This isn't really a judgement or conclusion on my opinion for Howe's future, but I have to say after watching PSG vs Bayern I want that. Obviously we're worlds apart in tactical style, technical ability, player quality, but my lord is it entertaining win-or-lose.
