Downie says we're 'pleased with the conclusion' so persumably we did get a decent fee.
-
Great month of potential transfers ahead of us then into pre-season. All this will all seem like ancient history by this time next month. By the time the next cycle comes around we will hopefully have learned our lesson, planned well ahead and have a competent DoF in place.
-
We'll have absolutely no bother getting these through. Apparently Lyon offered more for Minteh and Archie Gray who has never kicked a ball in the PL is about to go for more than Anderson. They'll be absolutely gutted in the PL head office tomorrow morning with how we've played this. Bet they were salivating at the prospect of spending the week putting together a case against us.
-
And we all know what they invented
-
People wilfully ignoring the context around the deal so they have something to be mad at. Baffling.
-
Nice. Hopefully means fee isn't above a few mil
-
Same level of sources that said we were getting £10m for Anderson
-
Aye, doubt we'd be that daft like. Forest probably just want him off their wage bill so they might even throw him in for free on the Anderson deal.
-
If it's a cheeky £5m to Forest for helping us with the Anderson fee and he's replacing Karius then crack on with this.

Elliot Anderson (now playing for Nottingham Forest)

Forest fans don't seem to rate him but he appears to have been Benfica's starting keeper until last season. Can he really be that bad? -

If it is Elanga he might come in as our versatile young forward signing rather than our main RW. Apparently he can play across the front 3. -

What a fantastic piece of business Insane that people were gannin mad about £10m when the only person who'd reported that price is a Twitter ITK who also said that AC Milan want Longstaff. -

At his age he really needs to be playing regularly, which he wont get the opportunity to do here. Good luck to the lad. Quite pleased we've managed to bridge our shortfall without doing those swap deals like the other clubs. Gives the cartel one less route to come at us from. -
I notice Ryder has buried this line at the bottom of his article on Minteh being sold: "Newcastle are also in talks with a Saudi Pro League club to sell Callum Wilson if personal terms can be agreed." https://www.chroniclelive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/newcastle-united-set-sell-yankuba-29446303

Can't even get a solid 45 minutes of football here to distract me from the PSR shite -

On the one hand it's kind of patronising from the club, but on the other when you see the clip of some of the takes (mostly elsewhere) about selling Minteh in the first place you realise it was probably needed. -
Aye, and would get even better under Howe.
-
Looks like it would be engineered for PSR value rather than an actual straight swap
-
Shame about the context underlying all of this but Elanga is no doubt a very exciting player.
-
Doesn't Liverpool have several actual Tier 1 reporters? Going to choose not to believe this until one of them reports on it. I hope the Elanga link is true though - think he's underrated and had a great season.

It might also have an impact on players choosing to come here over other clubs. Players persumably want to join a club with stability and dropping points because you broke the rules (no matter how idiotic and unfair the rules are) would signal the opposite of stability.
