Isak and his agent have clearly misread the room. Whilst half the country can't afford to put the heating on, this fuck wants us sympathize with the horrors of only earning £120k per week. What makes this even more petulant, is the fact he would've got his big money move next summer anyway. I think 90% of the fanbase had already come to terms with Isak not signing a new contract and getting sold to a "big" club next season. I'm also not believing any of this "Isak was let down by promises of a new contract" narrative. Well he's clearly been offered a new contract in the meantime, so that is all just a bullshit story being briefed to the "transfer guru" nonces by his agent.

He played for Brighton in the Prem, but flopped hard. The expectation on him at Arsenal is way over the top.
-
If we'd signed Hojlund we'd be stuck playing him for 5 years due to PSR. Meanwhile these lot can spunk £250m every summer on fancy new toys. Eventually it'll come good.
-
If he asked for a move whilst still putting the hard graft in training/games I think most fans would't begrudge him the move. It's just the complete selfish nature of his actions which is hard to stomach. He has completely derailed our pre season and transfer window due to the timing of his temper tantrum, and now his unprofessionalism has cost us points at Villa. Eddie Howe must feel really let down. In contrast, you see someone like Eze, who has clearly been desperate for a move to one of the "big 6" all summer. Eze hasn't for one moment disrespected the club, fans, or colleagues by half arseing it, or going on bloody strike. Instead he put his boots on today, and put in a great shift for Palace against Chelsea. Isak could've easily left the club with the same class and been a legend forever.

Sesko and Gyokores will flop hard, at least I hope they will. It amazes me how all these "YouTube Football Content Creators" have been waffling all summer about how great Sesko and Gyokores are, but how many of them actually watch Bundesliga or Liga Portugal? The likes of Goldbridge etc know fuck all about football outside of their Sky 6 Premier League bubble. They are in for a serious disappointment with Gyokores (who is 27 and has already flopped in the Prem btw) and Sesko

Isak must be shitting himself now. There's been zero movement on this transfer since Liverpool bid two weeks ago. All this "I'll never play for you again, even if I'm not sold" histrionics just comes across as one last desperate play to breathe life into a dead transfer. The idea of Newcastle, in the next 2 weeks, securing two top level strikers required for a CL season, as well as Liverpool meeting our valuation, seems fanciful at this rate.
-
If there was a club abroad interested in buying him I'd consider it after all this drama. However, I just can't stomach selling to Liverpool, particularly as it sets a terrible precedent going forward. I do accept the idea of him playing again for us feels remote as things stand, but things can change very quickly in football, just look at the MGW saga at Forest. Isak may soon realise this move won't happen this summer and subsequently pivot to signing a new contract. Cue some club PR with him smiling and shaking hands with Eddie, and when he's banging the goals in for us again in this season, I'd think the majority of the fanbase would also quickly pivot to tolerating him for another season

Those stewards and dinner ladies must have been making some serious dough for them to already spend £200m with zero outgoings.
-
I don't know about you, but I've completely tuned out of consuming any sort of football podcasts/YouTube/news content this week. The Sky 6 circle jerk is at an all time high and I can't be bothered with it at all. I also have zero interest in getting invested in a transfer saga involving us and Nicolas Jackson.
-
This is an absolute piss take. Wouldn't surprise me if this drags on for a couple of weeks until Man U eventually cough up the cash. Has there ever been such a high profile transfer in which a club with the lowest bid secured the player?
-
I swear all these "transfer gurus" are desperately trying to sell Nicolas Jackson on behalf of their client Chelsea. This is also not a straightforward deal to make. He's on an 8 year deal, Chelsea's valuation is absurd (clearly emboldened by fleecing Arsenal for Madueke), he's on big wages, and he's stated that he wants to stay at Chelsea. I seriously doubt we'd go for Jackson unless it's a deadline day desperation move.
-
I will be gutted if we signed Jackson as an Isak replacement. Surely Eddie is smart enough to veto that .
-
I think Isak will have to stay now, especially with the news that Wissa is back training with Brentford today. With Sesko and Wissa looking unlikely, I don't think we're in a position now to buy 2 strikers of the quality to replace Isak/Wilson before the window shuts. Nicolas Jackson CANNOT be an Isak replacement. That leaves Olie Watkins.. but I just don't see either of those deals being easy or attractive to make.
-
This is disgusting. Top 6 spend (£1.1bn) The other 14 (£712m) No wonder the top 6 love PSR, and this pattern of spending will only get worse thanks to a bloated Champions League and lucrative Club World Cup. Would happily see all these smug Sky 6 fans permanently fuck off into a Super League tbh. No one would miss them
-
No matter how hard the Sky 6 client media try to fuel the Jackson rumours I don't imagine that ever happening. I doubt Eddie Howe rates him at all, doesn't fit the profile of player he generally likes to recruit.
-
Really boils my piss that the Sky 6 fans and media see these rejections as evidence that the North East just isn't an attractive place to live and that these young players are coming to their clubs because of their footballing heritage. That's all fucking bullshit of course. These players are coming to these clubs mainly because of the astronomical wages that the Sky 6 clubs can offer relative to the rest of the league. This disparity in wage structures has only exacerbated thanks to PSR, and it's the reason why the top 50 earners, bar two players, all play for one of the Sky 6 clubs. So let's not kid ourselves here, Sesko isn't going to Manure because he adores Eric Cantona, and Moss Side reminds him of the French Riviera, he's going because if he kicks a ball about in rainy Manchester, him and his agents bank accounts will swell with £££
-
Sesko is no way worth this amount of money. Isak's timing for agitating a move has well and truly fucked us. Had he made his intentions clear at the end of the season, then we wouldn't be in such a desperate situation overpaying for players. That, on top of the way he's disrespected the fans, Eddie, and his teammates in recent weeks has left a real sour taste. I'd still love to see him back in the black n white shirt but it'd take some seriously grovelling on his behalf for me to ever cheer him on as if nothing ever happened this summer.
-
That 2006 leg break destroyed his career. Was a canny forward before that. The decision to make him a central midfielder post-injury was bizarre and he was simply awful from then on. By the time he played for us he was absolute dog shit. Nothing more than a wreckless passion merchant and a yellow card collector.

Bored of this now. Can't remember ever in my lifetime having such an exhausting transfer window. Funny thing is, it could still end up being a decent window as well.
