  1. Lovely, then we should hopefully have 100 of them!
  2. Thought occurred to me. If you employed 30 scouts full time, and paid them all 200k per year, that would cost 6m a year. You'd only need to produce one 6m pound profit annually - ie, sell one well-scouted player per year - to break even. I have no idea what our scouting network is like. But you'd hope we have full time scouts based locally to every major league globally, with a shared data set, all hunting the next 2-10m buys for 20-50m sells.
  3. I'll say it again. We must have made fantastic money from the cup win. It should equate to millions from merch, collectibles, garments. Fans loading up. Not to mention sponsorship bonuses etc. We've not really spent a cent in 2 years. We have a guaranteed CL cash injection. Just get the deals done, Mags.
  4. No - I think we need much more squad change and depth. We need to be selling 2-3, and buying 6-7. If last summer teams were able to buy players like Hujisen and Milenkovich for 10-15m, and if Brentford just bought kelleher for 18m, then we also need to be able to find and buy 3-4 players in that sort of range that we have scouted well.
  5. It seems to my simpleton's mind like we should be able to do plenty of business. We have sold quite a lot in the past 12-18 months (ASM, Minteh, Anderson, Kelly, Almiron). We can look to do more selling now, with longstaff and willock. We can get even more wages off our books, with Wilson and a few others if we wish. We have not spent much at all recently. We have merchandise cash from a cup win. We have cash from the Ashworth release clause fiasco. We have significant prospects for 30-60m of champs league revenue. And we can even potentially bank on selling one of Gordon or Isak in 12-18 months, allowing us to temporarily fall behind PSR a bit if needed. So the time to spend is now. We should easily be able to spend 150m plus. A player for 60m One for 40m One for 30m 2-3 for 15m each (this is crucial, for future financial health - Brentford styles). We must go for Mbeumo, Geuhi (or if not, another midfielder that Eddie rates), trafford, and then 2-3 well-scouted 22 yo types to fill out remaining squad needs. If we don't, then missing UCL again next year does just as much financial harm.
  6. Hopefully next week our front three (if no Isak) is: Murphy - Gordon - Barnes
  7. I reckon not enough is being made of the goal difference element. That late goal was absolutely massive. It was, in effect, two goals. If we win one and lose one from here (very possible) and Chelsea win their last two (very possible), that Bruno goal is immense and could easily be the decisive factor.
  8. Just stop Welbeck. Do that and we're halfway there. Oh, and attack like mad - I'd rather 4-2 than 1-0 or 1-1. Let's smash them.

    Marc Guehi

I don't see a lot to get excited about with him.
  10. Yeah, I was more curious about how much merchandise and memorabilia revenue the club may have been able to generate off the back of the win. Must have been meaningful.
  11. Have we heard much about how much revenue the cup win has generated, or may generate, through merch sales and the like? Hopefully 10% of a Cunha!
  12. The guy's a gun. Did some crucial things in our cup win. Runs at pace and aggressively hunts goals. Would have had another goal against Leicester(?) too, if Isak had crossed it to him sooner. Really good teams have some rotation of high quality players, so Gordon and Barnes need to have that mentality. Look at Liverpool with diaz / gakpo / jota etc.
  13. It's a shame Forest have such a cruisy set of fixtures remaining. We'd catch them otherwise. It's going to be all about passing Chelsea and holding off Villa. Expect City to be fourth.
  14. 1-0 down when their xg is 0.02 👀
