I sooo hope this time we have the balls to do that.
-
Bayern is not going to pay north of 50m. Gordon has no lobby among football fans in Germany and I guess Eberl is going to wait and wait and wait until we eventually crumble. The worst scenario would be some kind of swap deal including Gnabry.
-
Tomasson was 19, right? (true, Nick is older but a late bloomer) Played top flight for only 1.5 years before (just like Nick), came from an inferior league (similar to Nick) and was thrown in far too early (reminds me of someone). The price tag is the gulf between them…sadly.
-
Just read an article about him “Jon Dahl Tomasson was right player wrong time, when arriving at Newcastle United in summer 1997.“ I hope we get a better headline for Nick‘s stay here in 30 years.

Don’t get the many negative comments, if the team gels a bit in that new formation we might be onto something. We were in control for most of the half and had at least one crystal clear chance that we created ourselves. I don’t like Burn at lb and Nick is too easy to shove around but apart from that I‘m happy with that new approach.

German media today report about a strong interest of Atletico in him (replacing Griezmann)…if he does that he might get crazy numbers in Spain but he wouldnt see the ball much in Champions League games. However, I still think their style fits much better to him and he could serve Alvarez chances on a platter day in day out. Atletico also seem to have okayish funds for s Spanish side, so they could maybe bid 50ish?
-
But only because we wouldnt recoup any money for Wissa 😕
-
Fell in love on the day he spoke out against racism.
-
Actually both coaches are great.
-
All for Bayern tonight, can’t stand PSG.
-
We should have bought Timo Werner instead…sounds ridiculous at first, gets better (than Wissa) by the minute.
-
We have always been bad against Brighton and they are on a good run…they have even started believing in Hürzeler (while most fans were after him with pitchforks after the loss against Palace) - long story short, I don’t expect anything from this game.

@Jack14Bojangles I think you just rubbed some people here the wrong way. Being fan of a player instead of a team for me is a strange concept (though I know it becomes more common by the day), especially when you can’t expect much loyalty from players. And even though you say NUFC is your most favourite club in the PL you just said you have only followed it this season (after Nick‘s arrival). If you then harshly criticise a club legend, you have to reap the storm that you have sowed I guess. Just ask yourself whether you would still be here once Nick left and you know how much you care about the club.

Last September in an interview for Sky Germany Nick said the following: "The Newcastle project is awesome. The coach and the core of the team have been here for years. They only bring in a few new players at a time, like me for example. The club should continue on this path. When you qualify for the Champions League twice in a row in the Premier League, that’s statement enough. I’ve already been at two incredible clubs with amazing fans in Bremen and Stuttgart. Here in Newcastle, it’s a different kind of fan culture, but it’s also a massive club! I can already feel that. Everyone here is passionate about this club. That’s something that really appeals to me. On top of that, there's the sporting perspective. Last year, the club finally won a title again after 70 years. That’s the path we should keep following. I’m excited for the task, I’m excited for the challenge! That’s why I’m here!" I guess they didnt even talk much about tactics since they were so eager to get the deal done (both parties mind).

@Yorkie I guess your anger about @Jack14Bojangles led to collateral damage for Nick 😀. He hasnt been shite for most of the season, he scored at the beginning, then had a very dry spell and then had cameos of many different kinds (most okayish). All in all a 6/7 season which is more than I expected from him (not his fault that we overpaid).
-
Bayern is NEVER going to pay that much, rather encourage him to bitch and moan his way out as much as possible.
-
Bayern fans I‘ve been talking to this week think he is some kind of super fast dribbler that is going to provide top service for Harry. And while I first thought they might be delusional, he could actually become that player with - fewer games to play - more rotation - a midfield that is packed with quality - a clinical striker - a no nonsense coach and club - a subsequent boost in self-confidence (which he arguably has enough of) His stats could totally shadow what he has done here, without him really becoming a better player.

The Managerial Merry Go Round™ - Silva leaves Fulham
HMSIllustrious replied to cp40's topic in Football
Rose was seen as an upcoming manager talent but nowadays he‘s just one of those Bundesliga regulars with the bonus of being from the Rangnick school (so he‘s tactically very adapt). German newspapers today report that Hjulmand might have to go at the end of the season and Iraola will possibly replace him at Leverkusen (ongoing talks). -
The fee seems really not what we expect it to be, do we know whether there is a release clause in case we miss out on European Football?
-
Today German broadsheets also cover the matter, they report of a fee between 35 to 45 mil £ (seems pretty low or like a typical Bayern move). They go on reporting that the talks with Gordon‘s camp are nearly done while nobody has talked to the club by now. Gordon however is very interested in the move joining England international Kane and former England international Musiala (has he ever played with Gordon?!).
-
Total hoax, German sources all quote some transfer expert named Tavolieri, I never heard of. Bayern have proclaimed that the era of big money signings is over and while they could really need a Diaz backup, they will rather go for Führich or someone similar.
-
I somehow don’t buy that, he always spoke highly of Eddie and never moaned about the circumstances. I think it’s a media thing that he has to be upset just so they have something to report about.
-
Bild (Germany‘s wretched Sun cousin), reports that Borussia Dortmund monitors Nick‘s situation closely. However, his family states that he is not interested in a transfer at all…so no news here.
-
Yup, wasn‘t about Nick, the crowd in Stuttgart still loves him (his transfer fee changed the whole club for the better).
-
Maybe, but the many other Bayern players don‘t get that kind of treatment.
