No, it wasn‘t about you specifically, I know you just want us to be as good as possible (and by that every player on the teamsheet too). It was more about the general phenomenon that people forget that these guys are young men and not machines and always expect them to be flawless.
-
In general I think this should differentiate us from other fanbases. On Redcafe for example, after every defeat, they want to sell all players bar Bruno, let‘s be more level-headed than them.

See what 3/4 of a game of rest can do…he was just extremely overplayed.
-
I feel people are too dramatic, he has had some bad games recently (still won the penalty against Leverkusen), but that happens to every player in a squad that is too thin for the many competitions we are in if they arent rotated. So his drop in form is just expectable. Give him some rest and don’t pile up on him after today. From what I‘ve seen in Interviews, I think he will be a very unhappy guy today.

Leverkusen‘s coach is not with the team tonight due to private reasons (Family matters). Good News for us (he‘s good at tactics and man Management), but wish him all the best. -

Leverkusen‘s fan base normally is pretty peaceful, lots of families/women in the stadium. It’s a bit different on european nights, but nothing to worry about. Just don’t sport cologne‘s colours (red/white)…that‘s the only violent rivalry they have. -
I couldnt care less about his sexual preferences, and well, at his age I would have rather brought a friend with me for the adventure of living in a new country and exploring its nightlife.

Let‘s hope for another Andrich brainfart like he had against PSG. I really can‘t stand his thuggish behaviour. Will be interesting to see whether Hjulmand plays Grimaldo as 10 or LB, he is by far their most constant player this season, many of the others are hit and miss. -

We should hope for another Andrich brain fart, such a thuggish player. -
https://www.stern.de/sport/nick-woltemade---herr-hoeness-hat-mir-eine-whatsapp-zukommen-lassen--36915160.html extensive Interview in a big German news magazine (1€ paywall). Nick says he delibaretly chose NU over Bayern to compete in the best league in the world and that he felt right at home from the beginning. Furthermore, he is not content with his game, says that in many games he is involved too little but thats because the the team had so few training sessions together and the others are used to playing with a completely different type of rodent uh striker.
-
He was actually pretty mediocre during his time in Germany and Spain. Maybe he just went through a very long purple patch at Wolves.
-
Yeah well, West Ham though…we weren‘t especially great either.
-
It’s paywalled, would you be so kind to quote some passages?
-
Would be cool if his old man was on the forum 😀

Nagelsmann is just not a good Coach.
-
Yet in 2002 they reached the final of the world cup (on the back of Kahn and Ballack mind).
-
Tonight against Luxemburg it‘s Wolte in front of a line of three made of Gnabry (seems to reach a late peak atm), Wirtz (unlucky, unhappy, but still better than Isak) and Sane (ups and downs in Turkey). I can see him getting much more service than in our setup.
-
There was even an article from Goal.com quoted in German media in which they focused Shearer‘s tweet “sloppy and leggy“ especially on Wolte, which doesn‘t make any sense, but that‘s how clickbait works.

Just what always happens when things are starting to go downhill, people frantically try to find a scapegoat or at least an explanation. I think our offensive decline is rather the result of a whole bunch of factors - injuries/ subpar form in key positions/ lacking tactical automatisms and (to my surprise) a strange lack of intensity.

Today Nick received the German Football Association‘s fair play medal for giving emotional support to the Bielefeld players who had just lost the German cup final to Nick‘s Stuttgart.

West Ham United 3-1 Newcastle United (02/10/25)
HMSIllustrious replied to Yorkie's topic in Football
Gordon needs to see less of the ball, Tonali has to have more of it, need a bit of control there. -
I agree with him being quality, but am still happy we ended up with Nick since he just has more dimensions to his game. A partnership of Nick and Hugo however 😬
-
That‘s fine, German kids learn about the Northeast of England specifically at school and later think that York and Newcastle are the only places you should know about (well and London of course).
