Wouldn't Surprise me to see him take a punt at Darlington or Hartlepool to be honest. Darlo have the ground, with a bit of cash could get em in to the championship then who knows. A new ground for Pools and two promotions off the Premiership! Problem with both clubs would be fan base, although the prospect of top flight football might turn their heads.  Would be very surprised if Bates flogged him Leeds. He will want that cash cow for himself when he eventually gets Leeds back in to the Premier League

sorry to revive a super old post but didn't want to start a new one, i've heard that old freddie is interested in buying glasgow rangers. dont shoot the messenger.

:celb: Now this is a rumour I like. That would be immense.

And it's credible...after all, Freddie's always had a soft spot for giving Rangers great wads of cash for no good reasong (e.g. Boumsong).

i can see the interview on sky now the day he buys them

"as you know guys, the people of glasgow are a special type of people"

"rangers fans are a special breed"

"there is never a dull day at rangers"

"i think the rangers fans will be pleasantly surprised by what happens in the next few weeks"

then within 6 months, blood hungry fans will be ready to storm the boardroom
