:lol::lol::lol:

It was brilliant when he took Gerrard off instead of Hobbs.

I havent seen the game... .what was the score when he took him off ?

losing 3 one with 20mins left

:kasper:

Whaaaaaaaat ? Love to hear the pool fans' opinion of that one

Benny: "You have to save your big players".

I'm beginning to feel a bit sorry for him it's getting like he's following my script. :cheesy:

Have to say, I think he made the right decision. Minimise risk of injury, etc.

The proof will be in the pudding by about 9.30pm tonight.

Swiftly followed by Man Utd at the weekend... :hmm:

A big few days for Rafa.  blueyes.gif

I rub my hands with glee Middy baby.  :cheesy:

I'm trying to work out if a draw is enough for them.

Depends on the other result but a draw could be enough. The top team has to lose, then they go through in second on goals with a draw.

Porto will win at home.

has anyone seen any news on him getting the bullet after his meeting with the owners on Sunday

Gillett gives backing to Benitez

Liverpool co-owner George Gillett has given his full support to Reds manager Rafael Benitez after clear-the-air talks with the Spaniard on Sunday.

Benitez met with Gillett and co-owner Tom Hicks hours after Sunday's 1-0 defeat by Manchester United at Anfield.

Gillett told the Liverpool Echo: "Rafa is the one we want as manager further on, and we have faith in him."

Have to agree 100% on this one. Kewell just doesn't have the pace or confidence any more to do what he used to at leeds etc, he's also cack at any sort of defending, Babel on the other hand looks to be a right handfull and doesn't seem averse to putting in a good shift. What is the fat spanish knome up to? (couldn't really care-but salt and wounds...he.he)

Let's not forget he won them trophies ^^

Plus he made it to the finals of Champions League twice

And Liverpool's past seasons in the EPL have been consistent under him.

He has the impact of Ferguson for ManU and Wenger for Arsenal.

Arggghhhh... this so reminds me that Chelski should never have let the Special one leave either.

Regards

Benitez winning the Champions League, finishing top 4, and winning the FA Cup is no more spectacular an achievement with his resources and playing staff, than what McClaren did in reaching the top 8 in the Premiership one season, winning the Carling Cup, and reaching the UEFA Cup Final. The two years he won La Liga with Valencia, not once did they hit over 80 points, and was more down to Barca & Real Madrid f*cking up. Over here, you might get one of the title challengers have a poor season, but you're not going to get all 3 struggling. He's not a title-winning pedigree manager imo.

Come off it. Do you not remember the team he had in 05. Cisse, Baros, Smicer, Kewell, Djimi fucking Traore - all played in that final. That was a remarkable achievement.

Greece won Euro 2004. Does that make Rehagel one of the greatest international managers of all-time?

It obviously shows he's a good manager, unless you think taking Greece to the final of the Euros and winning it is a piece of piss.

Attempting to belittle winning the Champions League is fucking hilarious.

Why is that?

With the group stages and seeding you have to beat three good sides to win it.

Porto etc..

Are you forgetting the qualifying requirements?

Of course, it's so easy we've won it, as have the mackems. And Man Utd have won it loads of times.

This is so ridiculous I'm not even going to continue arguing about it.

Hold on a sec, Parky, what are we gunning for here?

Benitez getting the sack, so that they appoint a better (in your eyes) manager and pull further away from us, especially PL-wise?

If Benitez is so poor, surely you want them to stick with him?

Has nobody else pointed this out yet!? I'm baffled.

I personally wish we had 19 Graeme Souness clones managing the other teams in our league.
