Dr. TC
just sell now, he has the henry syndrome about him, all this speculation just disrupts the squad and the positive attitude that the club are trying to build. The guy doesnt fit into our system either, bye bye michael, utd will be sniffing "Utd" already have him, we paid £16m for him. Thanks. Also, he was always going to stay with us, he will probably stay for the rest of his career. How "unfashionable" is it, to say that, eh? It will happen though, he is going to stay here at Newcastle UTD. Yeah, it pisses me off too when people say United and assume that's only Man U. Grrr
Dokko
Well this is excellent news, i see SA is saying he needs 20+ games to prove himself worthy of a new contract as well.
Skirge
So not even a £9mill one to now he must be gutted I wonder if Martins get out clause can still be activated?
Nobody
I assume this is Mort's and Sam's doing, well done!!
James
I assume this is Mort's and Sam's doing, well done!! Doubt it. He was probably persuaded at the time that if he didn't want to leave after two summers, it would be because he wanted to stay, and Owen probably agreed. Great to see Mort and Allardyce offerring some support to the player though.
UV
I assume this is Mort's and Sam's doing, well done!! If it were a change in his contract, then Owen would have had to agree to it. This obviously can't be the case because he hates Newcastle, has no loyalty to anyone but England, and will be off as soon as anyone decent puts an offer in, etc.

Guest Sam
Allardyce saying he needs to prove himself before getting a contract is the best thing he could've done, makes the club seem the bigger side in the arguement and puts him back and the media back in their place, as it should be.
