So with Viduka's introduction was Smith moved into midfield or was Oba moved to the wing?

Oba on the wing.

It was a bit of a dubious penalty but i'll take it.

Looks as though Martins had already lost the ball and played for the pen.

it was a CLEAR TRIP.

It wasn't a clear trip though, you could argue that martins got his own foot caught on his knee.

N`Zogbia is immense. Viduka contributing nicely but uses to much time on the ball.

Its baffling. He does the hard work well, then completely wastes any potential break or chance to play a teamate in by hanging onto the ball for no reason at all.

dooks is no pen taker. Watching the aus national team he certainely can miss em.

Emre on for Barton for teh win. I get the feeling with an interested attacking central mid we'd tear them a new one.

or get caned by basically playing geremi on his own in midfield against a five.

Its not like Barton is getting through a mountain of defensive work. He seems about 3 steps behind the pace today.

Damn Zoggy looks fine when he sprints past Milner down that flank like he is standing still. Imagine what he'll do when he can start his runs from further up than half way.

Yes :p

I'll have to see it again, but it was no way clear cut.

It was a definite penalty btw. No doubts whatsoever.

Well the ball wasnt in his control anymore when he was tripped so it wasnt that clear tbh.

The commentator said that and I thought 'how bizarre'.

Are you allowed to trip someone now just because they don't have the ball?

These days "out of his control" and "off the ball foul" are so hard to distinguish

If we keep the pressure up they will surely crumble.

Two very Owen snaffling type chances there...

SA making a change after 30min..Good to see.

Well Butt was injured, but it was good to see that it was an attacking tactical decision

Credit to Sam. He's done well tactically so far, Viduka brought on just when he was needed probably.

Just imagine we could still have that sage Roeder in control, who apparantly needed no substitutions but only a vacant gaze to get things moving when we needed a lift!
