Titus Bramble

A few Boxing Days back, we turned in a thoroughly rotten performance under Souness at Anfield. Liverpool won 2-0 and when he replaced the injured Taylor, Titus Bramble was ironically cheered onto the pitch by the mickey mousers who then proceded to cheer his every touch.

Just wanted to congratulate him on some overdue payback.

:clap2:

I remember that, was that the year the Arkles was trashed and we were subsequently banned or was it the year some lass was out the back (the pissing place) giving handjobs to all and sundry in exchange for tickets??

PMSL... the infamous hand jobs at the Arkles. The infamous short lass with orange fake tan... Wasn't that before Souness though?

Lookings like an Umpa Lumpa by all accounts.

Good friends with a certain Mr. Chopra by all accounts!

Wigan Athletic manager Steve Bruce was left frustrated following Titus Bramble's first-half error in the 2-1 loss to Everton.

Toffees striker Andy Johnson punished Bramble's fluffed 39th-minute backpass after the defender clumsily hacked at the ball.

Johnson stole in to finish past Chris Kirkland before Joleon Lescott made it 2-0 on 43 minutes.

Wigan did hit back courtesy of Phil Jagielka's own goal, but it was not enough for the home side.

Bruce has bemoaned Bramble's error, expressing his belief that the mistake saw uncertainty creep in among his players.

Punished

"For 40 minutes we were on the front foot. But unfortunately for us we have made a horrible mistake for the first one," he told Sky Sports.

"Even the second one, we should have better defending on a set piece. I think the first mistake knocked the confidence out of the team for a couple of minutes.

"And when you are 2-0 down in the Premier League it's always very, very difficult to get back.

"The one thing with elementary mistakes is that you hope you learn from them and get better.

"Everyone makes mistakes, but unfortunately for Titus it seems that when the cameras are here on a big occasion, when he makes one; he gets punished for it.

"It is something he has to brush up on and learn from. Since I have been here he has made a couple of mistakes and got punished, but for eight, nine games he has been terrific."

-------------------

Poor Wigan, thank god we got rid of him when we did.

Rozehnal's not better, tbh. That says more about how bad Rozehnal has been at the back than anything positive about Bramble.

Exactly.

Rozehnal hasnt been that bad for us. He started absolutely brilliantly for us but has made a couple of mistakes since. He's still a very able backup.

This.

Comparing them two is ridiculous, Rozenhal has looked miles more consistent than Bramble ever did for us. Even if it's consistently average it's better than having a howler once per game like Bramble.

TBF, Bramble also made a top top class tackle in the box later on in the game.  That was always the problem with him though, you'd get the sublime and the ridiculous from him all in one game.
