Assistant manager - who?

Recommended Posts

Steve Round....seriously.

One of the best young coaches around, yet is very experienced.

Enthusiastic and has a modern approach.

Hadaway and bollocks man.

Unlucky with his bosses thats all.

He isn't a yes man either which is good.

haha Rob you're still sticking by Jose eh

no other man is worthy of the challenge

Absolutely true. Dream world stuff but I saw it mentioned before that Jose's ego could possibly lead him to say to himself "I can do what no other manager has been able to do in 50 odd years"...

(am just enjoying these last few hours/days of optimism before the enveitabl disappointment comes)

If it is Shearer I think he will go for Derek Fazackerley.

If it is Harry he may bring Tony Adams with him, which would be great for the defence to drilled by one of the best centre backs I have ever seen & I am sure Barton would be happy to have Mr Sporting Chance on Tyneside.

If it Jose he will keep Nigel Pearson as his number 2 & surround him with the Portuguese posse

I just hope the curse that is Steve Round gets his marching orders.

Because of his reason for quitting Boro. Southgate wasn't listening to his opinion, so he quit.

If his opinion is anything like every single side he's coached, I'm not bloody surprised.

He is more gung-ho and attacking minded than his managers.

Middlesbrough's run in UEFA was inspired by Round talking McClaren into that multiple striker fest.

I think Terry Venables made Round obsolete at England.

Based on what man? Have a word.

Even if it was, is that his tactical acumen shown there? "We need three goals, here's a cunning plan, bring some strikers on" - I'm surprised he's not got that Barca job yet in all honesty.

They were losing most of games & the plan seemed to be bung as many strikers on & see what happens.
