Dave
Can anyone post up the article cos SkySports isn't working for me... Ta. And yeah, i agree with Brummie, he's off to America. Newcastle boss Glenn Roeder believes David Beckham would have no shortage of suitors if he decided to return to The Premiership. The English star has voiced his frustration at not being considered a first choice candidate for the Real Madrid starting XI during Fabio Capello's first months in charge, with his plight highlighted by the fact that he played just 13 minutes in the derby win over Barcelona on Sunday. With under a year left on his current deal, speculation has been growing that Beckham may be considering leaving the Bernabeu, but the former Manchester United man has always reaffirmed his happiness at life in the Spanish capital. If a return to English shores was on the cards Roeder - who worked closely with Beckham during his time in the England setup - believes there would be an almighty transfer scramble for the set-piece specialist's signature. "I think a lot of clubs in The Premiership would like to have David Beckham," Roeder told Sky Sports News. "I know him personally, I worked with him for over two years when I worked with Hoddle in the England staff. "He is a great guy, sometimes he is misconceived. I enjoyed working with him and he has had a fantastic career and I'm sure he has plenty to offer whether he stays at Real Madrid or whether he moves on. "I think if he came back to The Premiership and bearing in mind he said he will never play in The Premiership again - I think he said that recently - I think any team lucky enough to secure his services their supporters will enjoy watching him play." Rest is other stuff.
Skirge
So is this going to be the "BIG" name Fred is looking at to try and bribe us into silence again is it ? The man is a total fool is he thinks Becks coming here would please us, we need defenders not another RW'er and if he insists on selling Milner then SWP or Lennon is who we should be buying not a hasbeen like Beckham! Rob W
Hate to say it, but there's no way Posh would come to Newcastle. Thank God!!!!!! on several counts........................
Yorkie
Reading that after reading the thread - i think too many people are jumping to conclusions. Beckham would never come to us, not even if we were in the Top 3. Never mind Bottom 3.
Dave
I wouldn't want him anyway, for plenty of reasons. Also, wait until Bluf sees this.

BlueStar
I laughed my arse off when I saw that just now. Exactly what everyone has been saying. Critisism for Freddy -> "We're after Becks" Comedy gold Me, yesterday at 12:13:35 PM A Freddy Out banner will just result in the sack for Roeder and spending our defender fund on Beckham. Guest G Mac
Walking circus...and not a very good footballer, unless we just brought him on to take fee kicks.
Guest pedros-mighty-chin
how daft do they think we are ? to be honest I'm insulted that the club think that all they need to do is break some pathetic "story" like this and we'll all realise that Fred is OK after all. sorry but it doesn't cut the mustard. SHEPHERD OUT.
BlueStar
Walking circus...and not a very good footballer, unless we just brought him on to take fee kicks. I can imagine Fred signing Johnny Wilkinson for that.

BlueStar
Will people have the bollocks to turn up in numbers at Official Mong Day for the unveiling and chant Shepherd Out rather than "There's only one David Beckham, we love you Freddy mwah mwah" Edit: A chant of "Do we look like fucking mugs" to the tune of "You're not singing any more" might get the point across better. If anyone's nabbed by the media on the exciting prospect of a Beckham signing look straight into the camera and say "Posh, if you're watching, it's just like you've heard up here. It's freezing cold, we all own whippets and work down pit, there's no clothes shops and we don't even have electricity. You're better off in Spain, pet."
