Winger or not he should be capable of sending in the odd good cross, make more of a fist of his passing and hit the f***ing target every now and again, these are basic things he just falls apart at when he's asked to do one or the other.

He actually did all those things today.

The foreign James Milner with slightly more pace, same s*** end product.

Clueless.

Every opportunity he had to day to cross, pass, shoot he f***ed up 9 times out of ten. At least Milner got shots on target and scored the odd goal. He's a good footballer in terms of skill but his technique is s***.

His game is completely different to Milner's though. If you're a player who actually looks to play football you don't stand a chance in this team.

So how does he constantly f*** up his crossing, shooting and passing which often gets overlooked because he makes many successful simple 5-10 yard passes? s*** team-mates doesn't make someone f*** up crosses, shots and passes so consistently. Shit technique does.

Probably because I don't class him as a typical wide man who goes out wide and gets balls into the box like Solano or Robert would. It's not his game, or ever will be. If anything I'd say he's more of a wing-back. But that's ok, let us all give some grief to one of our few players actually capable of producing something while giving chance after chance to some of shite that gets to wear the shirt. Typical of our fans really, there's far more pressing issues at hand than giving someone like Jonas absolute dogs abuse. But I suppose it's his turn to become the new scapegoat as he's shown a few glimpses of talent, but because he can't do it all by himself he deserves a lot of abuse for that.

*Cough Milner Cough*

That was justified after we found out he was a greedy cunt. ;)

Aye once in many many attempts. One pass that was on, a simple side footed pass... over hit and behind for a goal-kick. One simple cross that was on, just loft it in, out for a goal-kick. He cuts inside, goal in full view, defender turned, what does he do? Fucking roll the ball to the grateful keeper who has had to deal with harder hit back-passes.

For the last time, Jonas is the least of our problems. Stick him in a team with a capable midfield around him and you see everything that we love about him shine.

The abuse Jonas gets compared to some of the other wasters we have in our team on here is beyond farcical

Which is the point I'm trying to make.

What abuse? People have "gay for Jonas" as sigs and just look at the thread title man

A few people point out his flaws, calls a spade a spade, and they are abusing "what a guy" Jonas?

Please

He's fucking shit in the same way Milner was, end product.

If Jonas, Enrique and Butt were the left side which produced so little according to you, what did you make of the football produced by Lovenkrands, Taylor and Ryan on the right?

A truly good player would rise above the mediocrity surrounding him.

These days the whole "Player X looks poor because of the players around him" excuse is tediously wheeled out to defend players with a decent reputation who turn in nothing performances.

I think those people are as stupid as the Nile Ranger and Martins fanboys, however a bit of perspective is called for I feel. I just think Jonas is the least of our worries at the moment when we have the likes of Nicky Butt and Steven Taylor starting every week.

If he can't cross the ball, hit the target, provide a goal threat or get his passing right then how is he not a problem? He isn't the biggest problem, not by far, but in attacking sense if your wide man can't cross, shoot or pass too well, then he's basically useless as a goal threat. But he works hard and does these fancy little tricks to evade a player at the half-way line.

Jonas is way too intricate for our team.

He still hasn't quite realised how poor his teammates are and so tries to play too cute little balls in and around the box with them.

Just needs to be told to be more direct and play the bass early or shoot as soon as he sees an opeing to.

Not expecting our managers to be able to relay this information on to him anytime soon though.

Jonas for example in the Arsenal team would be breathtaking.

Did just fine picking out Guiza with his passes at Mallorca. He has decent floor-passing ability running in from deep, but it's completely useless when he has to work with zero central midfield support and zero intelligent strikers. All he can do is run into blind allies.

Where's the thread criticising Butt, S Taylor and generally every other player we have who have who either has less quality or less heart? Jumping on Jonas' back. Get some fucking perspective, eh?

R. Taylor sent in two excellent crosses in open play and made several good passes. The others in an attacking sense were shit, but then one is a centre-back and the other is a left footer playing wide right. At least on 10 separate occasions that I counted Jonas had great opportunities to cross the ball in, shoot or make a telling pass and he fucked them all up. I wouldn't mind but he is consistently fucking crosses, shots and passing up.

It's easy, when your team are relying solely on one player to do everything, to blame him when things aren't going right. It's ok though, we can all see him play outstandingly next year...for someone else whilst we've spent our £200k transfer budget funded by player sales in the Championship.

I think the difference is Jonas was hailed as a world beater after the Man Utd game and has struggled to live up to that performance ever since. Butt and Taylor meanwhile have never really been hyped, we've always known they're pretty crummy.

Taylor has been hyped massively at times in the past and still people excuse his inept performances.

Taylor was the golden child when he was first breaking into the first team.

Agreed. Having shit- team mates around him does not prevent him from sending in half decent crosses, shots or passes which he consistently fucks up. His technique is so poor, he underhits them all or overhits them and uses his instep constantly, use your fucking laces, toes, your inner and outer step man, swing your leg, lean back, kick the fucking ball with some meaning and technique which he must surely be capable of.

No one is asking or expecting him to do everything or blaming him when things aren't going right. I'm blaming him for being inept at shooting, crossing and passing in general which isn't down to having shit team mates but shit technique.

You just love being alternative don't you?

Blatantly ignored the fact that he's the only one who can get to the by line and does actually put some decent balls in, the percentage of them might not be perfect, but you'd expect some of them to be converted. Martins' chance being one example today. He creates enough, his shooting is shit admittedly but theres nothing wrong with his passing either. Wide man? He's the modern winger, not the old fashioned type, you can see that by how often he comes inside, he's not Keith Gillespie. That last sentence of yours is just tosh aswell, thats merely one of the good things he can do, and one of the things that ONLY he can do in our team. Honestly, I just think you love going against the grain, when theres targets to pick fault with. Everything went through him today, because he's the only attacking player that seems to have a clue.
