Guest Stephen927
Boumsong was on a whole other level of uselessness than Coloccini. Won't be sad to see him go, hope we can recoup somewhere near the amount we paid for him.
NG32
I think asking 7 mil for him is daft.
Dave
I think asking 7 mil for him is daft. Why? He's had a shit season etc but he's still a recent Argentina international of good age who's probably retained a good reputation outside of Newcastle/England. Fair price IMO. Aye no Prem club will want him, he cannot cope with our league but will do well abroad I reckon.

sempuki
6/7 million will be the best we can get I suspect. Just a 5 million or so loss in less than a year.....
Dave
Just because we ultimately want rid of these players doesn't mean we should be giving them away. We should start high and see who bites, same as any other sale. £7m for Coloccini is still a significant reduction in the price he went for just a year ago. NG32
We may have paid over the asking price in the first place.
Dave
Probably did. But that's for others to decide, not for us to admit.
Dokko
£7m would do, we could get two really good CB's for that who can handle the English game. Let's not look at the loss but at what we get in to our coffers to restructure. Our main problem is getting rid of Butt, Duff, Barton, Geremi & Smith. Getting rid of them and free transferring Owen & Viduka and were in touching distance of a wage structure we can manager in the championship.
Skirge
Oh we paid over the odds like but well no one knew he would not be able to cope here, still does not mean he would not be worth good money to a foreign club.

Fucking the likes of Coloccini and Martins off will be child's play compared to trying to convince clubs to take old, vastly overpaid wasters like the ones you list. These players still have reputations and the fact that we're now in the Championship doesn't mean that we should start scrounging and taking what we can get. If these players leave, they leave on our terms. Not just the first Joe Bloggs who offers a couple of million.

Yeah, then we found out that all the deals done sales wise we didn't get the money up front and fucked ourselves silly and insisted on buying players money up front. We might get 7 mil but if these turds are still in charge it might be stretched over 3 years.

Hopefully Barton & Smith will go for some kind of fee to managers like Big Sam again or Megson while i think were stuck with Butt & Duff since their lodged firmly up Shearer's arse. Geremi might attract interest from abroad but i doubt we'll see a fee.

Given really forced himself out of the club though, threatening not to play and whinging to the press we were asking too much for him. Fuking rat.
