Disgusted at the lack of formal comment

Recommended Posts

The lack of comment by the club on all matters football imho is a 2 finger salute to the media and fans from Ashley and co for the bad press and stick dished out by supporters and so the silence. If Ashley has to keep the club because of no bids reaching the asking price etc we may see a charm offensive to win back support but with his puppets around still its probably too late ,Llambras whatever his name is must be the worst mouthpiece we have had as far as any comment what so ever and the press department seem starved of information to dish out .

I don't get the fuss about this. If you're in the middle of negotiations over a business deal, you don't give a blow by blow account to the media about what's going on at each stage. That's basic.

On the Keegan issue, Ashley has already found that any statement from him tends to be inflammatory, no matter what the content. A large number of fans aren't open to the idea that Keegan may be at fault, and so it's best to say nothing.

Not concerned about the lack of communication over the proposed sale or even from Ashley but do think that the chairman Llambias should be uttering the odd statement in public now and again seeing as he supposed to be the person running the club.  There has been nothing from him even before Keegan left.

There are other issues that the club can pass comment on.

Just wish Kinnear would shut up now as I am sick of the contradictory nonsense he is coming out with and I do not think he is doing himself any favours - should have kept to his original promise about not speaking to the media.

Then he needs to tell that to the Interim Manager

The lack of official comment is worrying. However, at least its not as bad as Berwick Rangers. A director put the club up for sale last week through a post on a football forum, then the same director (once a football hooligan and banned from every pub in the town a few years back) went on to spread a load of shite about another director later in the thread. Berwick announced a load of signings on the official website during the summer, only for the fans to find out they hadn't actually signed, and a few went on to sign for other clubs. The team manager was late on Saturday and had to phone his team through when stuck in traffic, a player was sent off then arrested for assulting the referee, then a player gave the fingers to the Dumbarton fans as he stormed down the tunnel after being subbed. Newcastle are a well run outfit compared to Berwick.
