The TV money they'll get for playing at home will probably be great than any gate receipt they'd get playing at SJP.

This.

Also, you're not allowed to switch FA Cup ties unless on police or council advice- both have stated they have no case for switching the tie as they don't expect a sizeable away support.

FA Cup heroes Blyth Spartans will be given VIP treatment from their more illustrious neighbours Newcastle United on Sunday.

For Spartans manager Harry Dunn, his backroom staff and players will be presented on the St James’s Park pitch at half-time during the Spurs game, when 50,000 United fans will have the chance to hail the non-leaguers’ achievement at reaching the third round of the FA Cup.

United will roll out the red carpet for the men who play in green and white stripes, with the Blyth party being wined and dined in the plush Club 206 suite before the game and then taking their bow on the pitch at the interval.

Harry Dunn said today: “It’s a fantastic gesture from Newcastle United and we thank them very much for it.

“When I told the lads we had been invited to St James’s Park on Sunday to go on the pitch they were absolutely thrilled – especially the ones who are big black-and-whites.

“It’s great that a big club like Newcastle United would do something like this for Blyth. It caps off a great week for everyone.”

A Newcastle spokesman said: “We’re delighted to have Blyth Spartans as our special guests on Sunday and we know the Newcastle fans will give them a great reception.

“As fellow members of the Northumberland FA we are delighted they have gone so far in the FA Cup.

“Lots of Newcastle fans still remember Blyth going as far as the fifth round in 1978 and going along to support them in the replay against Wrexham here at St James’s Park.

“For the current lads to get to the third round and host Blackburn Rovers sums up the romance of the FA Cup and we wish them all the very best.”
