Guest
Whelan - Martinez deal done Wigan chairman Dave Whelan has confirmed to Sky Sports News that Roberto Martinez will be the Premier League club's new manager. An official announcement on Martinez's appointment is expected to be made in the next 24 hours, but Whelan has exclusively revealed that the deal is done. http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11095_5371563,00.html Bit of a shame that imo. Would have been nice to see Martinez see how far he can take Swansea before leaving. That's the last thing we want! We want Speed to go in and prove he's not up to it. Swansea could have potentially been a promotion rival under Martinez.
toontownman
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/teams/w/wigan_athletic/8105620.stm "I will never move for Swansea players unless they are in the market or other clubs show an interest," Martinez said. Thats like telling your freshly dumped ex-girlfriend that you would'nt ever sleep with her hot sister, unless she wanted to and other people were hitting on her. So provided all of Swansea's players are s*** and no one wants them, they will be fine!
LucaAltieri
A few months old now but still interesting: https://soundcloud.com/followtonians/roberto-martinez-meets-the Interview with Roberto Martinez. Among other things he talks about style of play, positives and negatives of playing out from the back, influence of fans/unpopular board room decisions, the loan system, youth development, and managerial influences.
