TRon
Venables might be more interested in discussing a deal until the end of the season at the least, reason he rejected us last time was because he was asked to do the job for a month and didn't feel that was enough time to make much of an impact. Would be a right joke, a temporary manager to come in and replace our temporary manager. We'd be better off giving Venables the two and a half year contract that Kinnear's been offered. We'd be better off giving Glenn Roeder or Sam Allardyce an official contract, rather than giving Kinnear an official contract. I'd hav Venables in till the end of the season cos he's got more about him than Hughton, and probably Kinnear aswell. But if at the end of the season he, or Calderwood, or Hughton, or Kinnear were to be given official contracts then i will have lost all hope in the set-up we've got here. I fully anticipate it to happen, like. Doesn't make it any less shocking though.

Guest Phil K
Venables turned down six matches, but he'd come for nine? Nah. He might if there was a "if you keep us up, a guaranteed contract worth £x for x years" clause. Thats a more palatable proposition than Kinnear/Hughton etc for 2 years (shudder)
Parsley
Happy for Hughton and Calderwood to stay on as back-room but Kinnear has to go.
oldtype
Happy for Hughton and Calderwood to stay on as back-room but Kinnear has to go. That's obvious for everyone - except for the people actually in charge.
Mike
How in the world could you watch the football we play and think we need to see it for a few more years? Does he think there is a corner we'll turn eventually?
Guest gggg
Just seen the other big fat Joe (Royle) has gone back to Oldham, so we havent even got the best big fat Joe in the football league, and even they have only given him a part time deal.
