Thespence Posted April 9, 2009 Share Posted April 9, 2009 QPR dismiss manager Paulo Sousa for divulging 'sensitive information' • Sousa sacked after only five months in charge • Ainsworth becomes caretaker manager again QPR have dismissed manager Paulo Sousa for giving away "confidential and sensitive information" the club have confirmed. A statement on the club's official website this evening read: "Queens Park Rangers Football Club has today had to terminate Paulo De Sousa's employment with the club with immediate effect. "It came to the club's attention that Mr De Sousa had, without authority, divulged highly confidential and sensitive information. The club, with legal advice, responded in this way to protect its position." "Player/coach Gareth Ainsworth will take caretaker charge on a temporary basis, from now until the end of the season." The former Internazionale, Borussia Dortmund and Juventus midfielder, who spent five years as Luiz Felipe Scolari's assistant with the Portuguese national side, signed a 2½-year contract with the west London club in November. The 38-year-old Sousa, who earned 51 caps for his country and won back-to-back Champions League titles with Juventus and Dortmund in 1996 and 1997, took charge of the Hoops while they were in 10th place in the Championship.
