Mr Logic
I've been searching for recent quotes, that Pardew was 'buoyed' by a meeting with Ashley at the training ground - regarding not being content with just 'surviving' in the PL, but wants to challenge on the next level. Need exciting players that will get the fans off their seats etc. Can't find them! But how does that fit in with this? He will to buy half a team if our worst fears are realised, (Enrique, Barton, Nolan all gone), we needed players anyway. Is it all just more bullshit or are we about to see a stunning amount of ins and outs?
Mr Logic
Barton was 3 years old when the Smiths hit the charts. I had no idea people still listened to the Smiths. How soon is now? Aren't you a Charming Man? You can still appreciate good music regardless of age. True. I just hadn't realised the Smiths popularity had survived with time. I'm out of touch. Oakie Doke
I'm only 21 and I love The Smiths. I think the'yre one of the few older bands still fairly popular with the youth of today.

Mr Logic
I'm a bit older than that and liked them first time around. Now, over 20 years on and with time I feel their music resembles funeral dirges. Strikes a memory for sure but not easy listening.

Agree with you on Radiohead, the only truly great songs they did were Street Spirit, Karma Police and Creep. The rest I can pretty much take or leave. Ameritoon
For some reason I already knew Joey like The Smiths, think he had their shirt on one time. It was an Arcade Fire shirt when he was on SSN. I notice his horse is named after an Arctic Monkey's track as well, My Propeller. Ah yeah, that was it. Surprisingly quality music taste.

Never thought of it like that before but Queen was the first album by the Smiths that I got into so maybe that has a lot to do with it.
Ameritoon
On The Smiths, I know many people my age who solely found them out because of 500 Days of Summer, quite depressing. Even without that though, they're still immensely popular.
