Heron
Not wanting to piss on this big "Guthrie hate" fire, but how exactly do we know he faked injury? I don't know where this whole feigning injury theory came from tbh...

ponsaelius
I think he was just agreeing with you JH. Personally I thought he faked it. No way of proving it though.

Because there was no mention of an injury in the press that week and he was fit to sit on the bench a week later?

Guest toonlass
The "experts" on here know more about whether a player is injured than physios and doctors do! You should know that by now!

How many players are stretchered off, then are not reported to be injured by manager or press, and sit on the bench the week after?

JH
It was as plain as day he faked it. Yet there's no proof, that's my point. Many thought that he faked it, but alot are treating it as fact.

Cajun
Hughton sounded pretty pissed off with him too IIRC.

As opposed to - Guthrie isn't that good + he gave the ball away which must = faked injury

My opinion on Guthrie's injury is based on over 20 years of playing football and knowing when an injury could be genuine or not.
Pilko
Way to completely ignore the logical evidence I've presented by the way. I hate to get NE5 on your asses but I'd appreciate an explanation - from stretcher to substitute in about six days?

Thinking about it...........maybe it was the heart removal op at half time that he struggled to run off. Yep, that'll be it.

I hate to get NE5 on your asses but I'd appreciate an explanation - from stretcher to substitute in about six days? It could mean anything. He might have just knocked his leg and it wasn't as serious or whatever. If he'd faked an injury, I couldn't see him being stretchered off anyway. I trust our Doctors are a bit better than "Oh, he's rolling around and screaming in pain, best get the stretcher"

Minhosa
He'll be gone within the year after finding his level last year. Fair do's for his efforts last season. If he finds a heart, loses a stone and improves his stamina he might be capable of a lower prem level career.

Sorry, is your assessment based on no evidence better than my assesment based on no evidence? Nobody knows but Guthrie whether he faked it or not, all I'm saying is people shouldn't be taking it as gospel.
Cajun
http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/eng_prem/9236015.stm About 2.15 onwards, questioned about Guthrie's injury, says they aren't sure about the injury but the goal cost us. Doesn't exactly sound sympathetic to the lad
