Premier League Team of the Decade

Well tbf the nineties was his decade, rather than the noughties.

True, but to suggest players like Van Nistelrooy and Drogba should be in there instead is laughable. Shearer still scored a bagful in the noughties.

As did those two. Hardly laughable to suggest those 2 have a good case to be included.

If its over a decade though it has to be Shearer. RVN was only at United a few seasons and Drogba hasn't been at Chelsea that long. Shearer retired in what 2006/07? 6 years of consistently scoring.

It's difficult, I can understand why Shearer is in there, as someone on the BBC forum said, he was still scoring goals up until 05 in a team a million miles away from the one that Drogba and RVN were in.

You can easily argue a case for any one of those three imo.

Shearer only had 2 or 3 good seasons this decade.

:fishing:

Blatantly true, last decade he was clearly the best striker by a mile, this decade he isn't top 5.

Aye, but you're still fishing. I cant be arsed to debate it really.

You've always been one for your stats, Ronaldo. From Jan 2000 to his retirement, he scored 97 in 206 league appearances. Almost one goal every other game for a player in his 30s. Amazing record tbh.

Not really when you factor penalties in. Great record but nowhere near better than RVN.

Penalties are there to be scored. Plenty of good players miss them, they still count when you look at his record.
