SEMTEX
I dare say if we'd bothered to have 1 moderately well hit shot last night, something similar could have happened. Of course that would have required us to have possession in their half, which we obviously didn't fancy.
GM
What's the logic of putting up England flags with ABE on them? Similar sort of logic as scrawling a swastika on an Israeli flag, really...

Parky
Thing is we didn't have a center of excellence or whatever it's called till two years ago. Italy and France have world class set ups to bring the right knowledge and skill to the players and have had them in place for a decade or more. Every kid in Holland grows up learing to play the system the national side and Ajax play, they start at 12 or summink...Germany's preperation is second to none. They have technically gifted players capable of maintaining possession, playing through the middle yadda yadda. They're just playing very very badly. Kaizero
Funny how the only pre-tournament favorite living up to the hype is crazy Diego and his gang. Media has really underestimated Maradon'a coaching abilities based on some eccentric press conferences and off-pitch comments. I mean, what does that even have to do with the actual football? Looking at some of the Argentina training footage, it looks just like your normal training session. Also, Maradona is a damned good motivator according to the players. And for the WC, that's all you really need if you are a good team, motivation. Which is where England falls short, as for all his tactical nous, Capello is a shit motivator and International tournaments are over so few games in total that motivation plays a much bigger part than in club football.
