Adopted teams

St Mirren. Saw them play a few times on a visit to the area back in the 80s. Stayed in a village called Bridge of Weir. They're black and white and are a real club, with real fans who resist watching the old firm, despite them both playing on St Mirrens' doorstep.

Great team, great support and great history.

An excellent choice.

I am biased though. My uncle played for them and still lives in Paisley.

Aye. Noticed you have a connection with the Saints Calimag. Good stuff.

Yet you support Arsenal....

I've always liked to see PSG do well.

Hotbed of football Cambridge then?

Not really. Loads of teenagers playing football in the parks. You get some good kickabouts with all the foreign students, tourists, etc. Brazilians, Spanish, French kids etc. all having a dig. Spent a few afternoons watching different styles of play in the youth. Saw a game with Brazilian teenagers: 10 or 11 a side all playing on a pitch they've marked out about the size of a 5-a-side pitch. ALL dribbling ALL the time.

Saw a couple of English lads join in with a Spanish game and it was weird. Totally different styles but the English lads more than held their own. One of them was very Beckhamesque: lots of spread passes and pinpoint crosses, which the Spanish couldn't cope with at all.

See a lot of Arsenal shirts around, tbh.

Deportivo La Courna would be my Spanish team. Fell in love with them when they had the likes of Valeron, Luque, Tristan, Pandiani, Djalminha, Andrade etc. Great side. Shame how they've drifted from those days...

What a left foot.

Used to love that old fella, Donato IIRC, who used to play in midfield who claimed he was 42 but was rumoured to be 48.

;D

I remember him as well. Tubby fucker, like. Djalminha had the sweetest left peg going, though. I don't think he ever reached the level he should have unfortuantely...

Where I was born, sadly the chairman (A certain Mr Raymond, famous for producing English Porn mags) decided to sell the club, keep ownership of the ground, and the club nosedived. One time on the verge of promotion, beaten by Burton Albion (how different it could be), and once home of a Waddle, who was a class above even at his age.

Also once home of New Zealand world cup international Leo Bertos.
