Dokko
Why not worry about this in the summer? No point in ruining 4 months of football fretting over something like this. He's ours till then no matter what. Is it going to be like this every time we get a decent player through the doors? Or are we just so used to signing shite upon shite we can't handle having decent players at the club? And if good footballers wanting to prove themselves see us as a stepping stone off selling the like of Carroll and Tiote for daft money then so be it, as there will come a time when we can hold on to them for good and hopefully if we've done it right we've got a really healthy bank balance in the process. Got very little hope that the £35m is going back into strengthening the team tbh. It'll pay a few bills but can't see us shelling out £35m in the summer on players. Yep. Buy low, sell high. It's the future. It's the future for everyone, especially with the new financial rules coming in. Tottenham's revolving door has been in action for several years and they are now CL contenders, it works when done correctly. Selling Andy Carroll for £35m+ after he handed in a transfer request is doing it correctly.

It'll pay a few bills but can't see us shelling out £35m in the summer on players. I was being partially sarcastic, I think it would send a message to our players though if we did it. I'm sure Llambias said we were close to breaking even, if that's the case then it might be a good time to do something with the money that came from the Carroll sale as I doubt that we were £35 million away from doing so. The European ruling about having to break even should give us a massive advantage over a lot of teams, Chelsea are -£50 million now so they might actually struggle to qualify for Europe if they carry on like that. They pumped the money back into the squad though and kept buying/speculating. Remains to be seen if we do the same. The quotes from Pardew don't suggest we're prepared to do the same. Mick
It looks like the European ruling starts from next season and is a rolling 3 year period and you can have a £38 million loss over that period than it's reduced to £26 million for the next 3 years then it will be reduced again. Still, it means that from next season things should become a lot easier as large transfer fee's and wages will cause some clubs problems.
Anderson
I don't have faith in UEFA to properly enforce these new rules though. If they were to pull it off though it should change the game for the better like.

Frazzle
Big clubs will be on UEFA's back to punish the clubs breaking the rules. All of the big clubs agreed to these rules, why would the back out now? Some big clubs have already started preparing and so as soon as UEFA try to bend the rules other massive clubs will complain.
