5-1

the unwashed didnt drop anyone and look at them now

You haven't seen enough of Smith and Nolan in central midfield together to have decided maybe it isn't such a good idea?

i think Vuckic has looked better in every game he played during the carling cup run and played well against Arsenal when he was played more in his natural position rather than as a central 2 as he did against Accrington and Chelsea.  If we drop Nolan back into midfield alongside Tiote and Shola is still not 100%(he didn't look fit against Bolton) then i wouldn't have a problem playing Vuckic behind Carroll.

If Vuckic is as talented as they say, then he needs to start getting some game time with the first team or to be sent out on loan.

He would be my preferred option behind Carroll with the players we have missing as perhaps he can provide the creative spark we are lacking.  However, I am sure I read last week that he is injured himself.

Far too early for him man, but he looks a star in the making.

I hate that we are always thinking that way.. It was also to early for Shola Ameobi until a couple of years ago.

We should give him the odd game here and there when he is fit..  If you are good enough the age doesnt matter.

That's what I said to the judge but it didn't work.

He's not good enough yet, that's the point. That Shola point makes absolutely no sense either, no one used to say he wasn't ready a couple of years ago, they said he was shite.

The problem is, his favoured position is very much a specialised role. We played a system at the start of the season that would have been tailor made for him, I'm not sure you can play him in the current 4-4-2.

We need him out on loan or we risk setting him back like we've done with Ranger.

We didn't set Ranger back; Ranger's attitude set Ranger back.

If Ranger is getting game time I can't see how Vuckic shouldn't get the odd ten minutes here and there.  Vuckic was better than a Ryan Taylor, Routledge and Smith at least against Arsenal and those players are on the bench and around the first team.

We should've given Vuckic more game time last season when we were cruising, we were beating teams by 3, 4 and 5 and didn't give any youngsters a chance.  Now when we are thin on the ground none of the youngsters have any experience and so Hughton seems nervous to stick them in the team.

Villa at the moment must be playing with about 6 players under 20, I don't see why Vuckic couldn't have been given 5-10 mins against Villa (6-0 up) or Sunderland (5-0 up).

His attitude might not be the best but we've handled his development poorly.

Vuckic was injured all last season man. There's no room/point in playing players for 10 minutes here and there in matches who need to be learning. Vuckic ideally would be out on loan, but our thin squad dictates that he needs to stay.

Very little you can do for a player if he's simply not interested in training/learning (developing).

He wasn't injured 'all' season, and how is there no point in playing players for 10 minutes here and there who 'need to be learning'? He will be learning when he's playing, that's the point.

The best way to improve is through playing games, Carroll is one of the best examples of this.

Do we know this about Ranger other than he looks like a little gangster so must act like one?

Hasn't he followed a similar path so far to Carroll? The only problem being Ranger is much further up the pecking order at the same age so we can't really let him go?

I'm not sure "the odd 5-10 mins" will do too much for his development, really. He needs consistent game time out on loan, not whilst we're trying to stay up.

It's not 100% first hand knowledge, just hearsay from people you'd hope would know. It's public info he was released from Southampton for behaviour issues and his 'gangsta' lifestyle. The club have refused loan offers from Southern Clubs as they don't want him to slip back in with his old crowd. Been more than one person saying that his attitude towards training is pretty unforgivable for a young player.
