ponsaelius
I agree, M4. The Timeless Paul Scholes has to be there. He can't tackle though, heheheheh. Ginger little scamp. Hehehehehehe.
Village Idiot
I never thought I'd be this unhappy to see MEssi win a Golden Ball When will a Spanish player win it?

jdckelly
should have been xavi
AliGupter
The worst thing about it, is that I was certain Iniesta had won when Pep showed the name upside down out of the envelope.
Fugazi
Love Messi, but really wanted Xavi to win.
ponsaelius
No arguments here, far and away the best player in the world over the last calender year. Thankfully they ignored the WC romanticism bollocks this year and gave it to the best player. It would have been nice to see Xavi win it, but this is the correct result really. Village Idiot
Yeah, no doubt Messi is the BPITW, but in 60 years of this award only one Spanish player has won it, and it was "now or never" for us on the back of the NT exploits. I mean, even Michael f***ing Owen won this s*** already.
Fugazi
Iniesta unlucky but FIFA award tends to go on reputation rather than achievement Can't believe there's shite Tweets like that, from people like Gavin Hamilton of Workd Soccer magazine. ponsaelius
Iniesta barely played last season ffs. So he scored one goal in the biggest game of all? Sorry, not enough for me. Hate this campaign to base it on WC form. Give oit to the best player, and be done with it.
Ketsbaia
Messi deserves it, definitely. He's just phenomenal at the moment and his goal record is scary. I really love Xavi too, its a shame they couldn't both win it!
Mr. Snrub
Casillas is a strange one. He's a shadow of the keeper he was 3/4 years ago.
Delima
Casillas is still the best though ? Why is maicon ahead of alves. And while puyol n pique are good are they weekly the best in the world ? They r so shielded by barca midfield

They r so shielded by barca midfield Julio Cesar has been the best keeper this season no doubt. He made one mistake and that's all. Alves above Maicon who was probably the 2nd best player in a team that won the Champions league and probably the World Cups best rightback? Come on! Alves has been a better player of late but Maicon was the better overall during the last year.

Julio Cesar is way infront of Casillas and Pique has easily been the world's best CB for the past year.

Village Idiot
For some reason I cannot fathom Madrid rags are really pissed off that Messi won it instead of Xavi/Iniesta. Both are already running ranting editorials in their sites
