Threw his shirt into the crowd at the end. Went about 10 seats across from me, think I caught a whiff. :megusta:

I remember Sir Les doing that at Birmingham. Just before he left...........

He'll be off in the summer.

Honestly, the way this club is being run, you almost can't blame the players for wanting away. The likes of Cabaye, Ben Arfa, Colo, Santon, Krul or Cisse....

The way some people act you would think we were a football club of pure evil and these poor unfortunate players have been forced to play for us as slave labour.

The transfer policy that people are so confident will make all our lovely, blameless players want to leave is the same one that brought most of them here and gave them a chance in the PL in front of 60k people every week.

We are right to complain about aspects of how the club is run but to say that players will rightly want out is ridiculous TBH. They have their share of responsibility too, and it's only a matter if months since everyone was flying.

The problem is that the 'model' has not been sufficiently developed further. Beyond bringing young and cheap, by PL standards, players in from France and having moderate success there doesn't seem to be a plan, or even a will, to progress.

We had a chance to strengthen the team and cement ourselves as a top 6 side pushing for the Champs League places.

This was not taken and it would be no surprise if some of our better players were asking the question 'is this as good as it gets'?

Quite frankly, looking at the squad, there is no personnel reason that this team has underperformed so greatly this season. It is essentially the same as last year, with the foreign imports from last season given a season to adjust, Ben Arfa and Cisse available for the entire season, and some exciting youth coming in the transfer market along with one accomplished international from a major European nation. No player could have looked at the team in September and presumed we were going backwards. For what we have available, this season has been disgraceful in terms of player performance, management, and ownership. All should be condemned.

That transfer policy has got us to 16th to which you'll reply but we have players like ben arfa etc.  We are 16th mainly because of a flawed transfer policy.

Just to clarify, the loss of Guthrie, Kadar, Best, Forster, Lovenkrands, Smith, and Hogansson and the addition of Anita, Good, Amalfitano, and Bigirimana is the reason for the team dropping from fifth to sixteenth. This is what you are saying?

Well, fair enough, as long as you only choose to judge it on this season. Last season it got us 5th. Who knows about the future.

You can focus on last season for all you want but it means fuck all when we are in a relegation fight like we are.  Plenty of teams have went down or been on the verge of it after a 1 season surprise.

What got us to 5th that we aren't doing now as we had the same transfer policy then.

Not really. We brought in five senior players in the summer and added a £9m striker in January despite our main guy already banging them in and the team doing well.

Compare and contrast to this time.

I'd say out squad is stronger (obviously minus Ba but he's only been gone 2 league games) now than it was from January onwards last season, our results from August to January with Ba included in the squad have been down to a different reason than our transfer policy.

Who the fuck's Hogansson?

Released at the end of last season and picked up by Derby County, don't think he has featured in their first team.

Edit: He's played 3 minutes of football for them.

Stronger? :spit:

We're 3 strikers light than what we had 12 months ago.

I'd go along with shit manager and injuries.

Strategy for improvement next season: be more lucky with injuries.

Sorted.

Sounds like Mike Ashley's plan.
