Zero Posted June 18, 2011 Share Posted June 18, 2011 Midfielder Sylvain Marveaux, 25, has agreed terms to join Newcastle United on July 1 from Rennes, after signing a five-year-deal at St. James' Park. The former France Under 21 International joined Rennes as a 15-year-old in 2001, making his first team debut in 2006. Since then he has made over 100 appearances for Les Rouges, scoring 16 goals from attacking or left midfield roles. Manager Alan Pardew said:"It's a great coup to have signed Sylvain, who has received interest from a number of other clubs. He may not be well known to many of our fans but he is a real talent and a player we have been keeping an eye on for some time. It's been a good couple of days for us on the transfer front."
