The other games today - 2011/12

Recommended Posts

Belgian XI has Hazard, Kompany, Vertonghen, Fellaini, Dembele... could do some damage

In theory they should but they are complete bottle jobs and their best striker is currently in Chelsea's reserves

They are packed with talent everywhere accept fullback and striker but unfortunately for them those are very important positions.

In anycase your right they could and quite frankly should do some damage.

Australia v Denmark is a pretty shit game. No intensity from either side.  Australia playing a counter-attacking game, had a few chances. But they aren't exciting. Seriously doubting whether we will qualify for the world cup with a group involving japan, jordan, oman and iraq.

How come Belgium didn't qualify? They have a better squad than a few teams in the Euros, Ireland for one.

The team has bonding issues. Country is split into German, Dutch and French speaking areas. Which has caused a divide within the squad.

This and they are major chokers...... having no fullbacks and striker doesnt help much either although playing Hazard in a fake 9 role could help solve one of those issues.

Probably one for Disco but how come Sky dropped their coverage of South American qualifying?

Some of the most high quality and competitive football played anywhere on the planet in that, even without Brazil this time round.

Didn't know they had it anyway tbh.

Agree on the quality thing though, even as owt at the moment. Venezuela to make their debut in Brazil? Most improved national team by a mile over the last decade.

Really?

They've had it for the last two for sure. Stayed up to watch Palermo's goal and Maradona's kneeslide.

Seems like a lifetime ago.

Given that ESPN seem to show it in South/North America you'd think they could wangle some coverage over here. Probably just isn't the market for it though unfortunately. The recent coverage of the Copa America being a key example.

Just watched Boliva Chile, 0-2 in the end. Could easily have been 4-4 though, great game to watch. End to end non stop attack.

Massive win for Chile, were getting dicked the part of the first half I watched, to win in La Paz is impressive regardless of how shit Bolivia are.

Messi will play extremely deep, set up a million chances and be called s**** for not scoring.

I never did understand people's thought process behind that but then again they are probably thicker than an average mackem.
