In the City game, the ball dropped(incidentally)to him and he showed some lovely bit of control and pass it out to Bruno and Martinez and score the winner. Cool. BUT when you’re in possession and your three centrebacks are passing the ball around to each other, this man will NEVER step outside of his comfort zone to show for the ball. It’s just the type of player I really don’t like. Glad you have him.

jack j
When you listen to the likes of neville and keane they reckon a full overhaul is needed especially with Amorims 3-4-3 system. Probably count on one hand the amount of players they'd keep Surely with psr rules they won't be able to spend another billion for a long time? alexf
Dunno if some are just piling on for fun or if they really mean it? But you can't be judging their manager on the first few games. Clearly he has a system he prefers and has worked well for him elsewhere. He's obviously seeing what players fit that and which he will need to replace. Granted EtH was supposed to be the same but he seemed to quickly abandon his philosophies and Man U had no style or direction under his whole tenure. If the new guy abandons his also, then they are in massive trouble. But like I mentioned earlier, took Howe a little while to get things going here and he had far less to work with than Amorim has, plus they can still buy their way out of trouble, so I don't expect them to be this awful for much of longer. Although surely revenues will eventually come down one day eventually for them if onfield doesn't improve? You know they are going to be way more up for a game against us than Bournemouth, no disrespect to Bournemouth but Man U arrogance seems to carry through generations, even though this current team should have actually been underdogs to Bournemouth on this season's showing so far. Cronky
I think when Ratcliffe picked Amorim it was a supporter's choice rather than a professional's. He was acting on the dream of landing the next Mourinho or Guardiola, rather than looking for someone of more relevant experience. More than once, Amorim has looked the picture of despair on the touchline. Surely he's got to put on a more positive face in public. He seems to have tied himself in verbal knots over the Rashford / Garnacho situation, claiming that they haven't been dropped for disciplinary reasons when they clearly have. It's ended up with Rashford saying he wants to go and Amorim saying he wants him to stay, despite the fact that Man U would be well rid of him. I'm not sure why he picked on Garnacho, who, from what I've seen, gives his all and is a talent worth nurturing. He may have lost him now. Amorim seems a nice guy in a role which needed a bit of a bastard. He seems to be oscillating between the two.

Froggy
2 hours ago, Cronky said: More than once, Amorim has looked the picture of despair on the touchline. Surely he's got to put on a more positive face in public. Why? He doesn't shy away from performances. He's honest and says we play well when we play well, and when we're shit he's say we're shit. It was one of the things I hated most about Ten Hag. We would win a game 1-0 from a moment of brilliance, but concede 20+ shots and be completely outplayed for 85 minutes and he'd say we deserved to win and that we'd be in a title race if Garnacho wasn't offside in a game that was 4 months ago. 2 hours ago, Cronky said: He seems to have tied himself in verbal knots over the Rashford / Garnacho situation, claiming that they haven't been dropped for disciplinary reasons when they clearly have. Would you want him to publicly throw players under the bus? Especially if we're looking to sell a high PSR asset such as Rashford. I feel like publicly attacking him would be bad for everyone involved, and would come under more criticism from everybody else. 2 hours ago, Cronky said: I'm not sure why he picked on Garnacho, who, from what I've seen, gives his all and is a talent worth nurturing. Despite this, he's obviously put his head down and he's went straight back into the squad. Edited 4 hours ago by Froggy
El Prontonise
Amorim is just proving how utterly average Man Utd are. Rashford got away with so much under previous managers.
Decky
I think Amorim will have the misfortune of struggling through this season, with a minor improvement in January probably. But when he is able to build his own squad properly I think he'll do well there because he plays a good style of football, its just that this Man Utd squad is seriously lacking in quality. I know they've a lot more revenue than us but it'll be fairly annoying watching them fund yet another spending spree while we can't spend a penny. Dokko
Only way manure grt back to the very top is a complete overhaul of the squad and with them sailing so close to psr, that isn't going to happen for 2 or 3 years. Be ironic if the very cunts the PL are trying to protect need the rules to dissappear. Theyve already bent them as far as thry can go with special allowances. The manure job is more about character than talent, especially in its current form. I don't think RA has the character they are looking for and that may be why it doesn't work out for him. You need that us vs the world approach, just seems since he's come in he's divided the camp more than anything.
Froggy
It would appear opposition fans have a very different view of Amorim that we have. He's the perfect character for the job. Whether he has the talent or not remains to be seen, but he hasn't uttered a single word out of place so far despite the immense scrutiny that comes with the role. I don't think the squad needs as much as people think either, and it's very young. Would hope we can get rid of Shaw, Rashford, Antony, Casemiro and Eriksen in the next 6-7 months to free up some pocket money and invest in players suited to Amorim's system, starting with a LWB. He's also top 1% for "attempted tackles"? Okay so what about last season? Manuel Ugarte's total of 98 tackles was the highest by anyone in Ligue 1 last season; and he managed it despite starting only 21 games out of 34, for a team, in Paris Saint-Germain, who spent roughly 66 per cent of the time in possession.
