Would hope we can get rid of Shaw, Rashford, Antony, Casemiro and Eriksen in the next 6-7 months to free up some pocket money and invest in players suited to Amorim's system, starting with a LWB. It depends on where you want to be , you will obviously comfortably overtake the likes of us again with all the resources you have and wage budget etc that we will never be able to compete with, you are a million miles away from say challenging for the title though which is ultimately what you should be judged against . He's the perfect character for the job. Whether he has the talent or not remains to be seen, but he hasn't uttered a single word out of place so far despite the immense scrutiny that comes with the role. I don't think the squad needs as much as people think either, and it's very young. Didn't read the article did you Dokko. You should know better than to mindlessly screenshot sensationlist headlines from the British press.

Noticed against Bournemouth that he was frankly terrible with his passing. He would dally and then try something he hasn't got the ability to achieve. He was trying to play well out of his comfort zone. I'm pretty sure we targetted him for the press when he was at PSG. He's just really limited with the ball, a passenger in possession. Which I guess a midtable team can carry, but if you are genuinely ambitious, you aren't looking at him. Still, laud his tackle output. Sibierski
I can say with confidence, if Ugarte is a mainstay CM for Man Utd under Amorim, they're fucked and won't be closing on top 4. He's not the CM to play in a middle 2, even more so with 3 CBs. Need someone who can actually progress the ball and more break the lines with the ball, not just do a limited aspect of one part of the game. There's not a CM in Man Utd collection that can do that. Cronky
4 hours ago, Froggy said: Why? He doesn't shy away from performances. He's honest and says we play well when we play well, and when we're shit he's say we're shit. It was one of the things I hated most about Ten Hag. We would win a game 1-0 from a moment of brilliance, but concede 20+ shots and be completely outplayed for 85 minutes and he'd say we deserved to win and that we'd be in a title race of Garnacho wasn't offside in a game that was 4 months ago. Would you want him to publicly throw players under the bus? Especially if we're looking to sell a high PSR asset such as Rashford. I feel like publicly attacking him would be bad for everyone involved, and would come under more criticism from everybody else. Garnacho was heavily rumoured to be leaking lineups. He was also liking posts on social media critcising his own teammates, which is completely unacceptable. Despite this, he's obviously put his head down and he's went straight back into the squad. Firstly, I appreciate your willingness to come on here and face the enemy. I don’t think you’ve addressed my point about Amorim’s attitude on the touchline. Honesty is one thing, showing despair is another. Thank you for the info on Garnacho, but it does reinforce my point. What the player did was clearly a disciplinary issue so why did Amorim try to assert that it wasn’t? If you can’t be honest, then it’s better to say nothing rather than end up lying. What’s worse, he hinted about the truth in his public statement. It feels inept to me. On Rashford, you have my sympathy. He is a good player but not a great one, yet somehow he’s ended up with a great player’s contract and is not delivering. That’s a problem without a solution because getting rid of him won’t be easy. I don’t think he’ll want to go to Saudi. A final point - with Garnacho and Diallo you could have a deadly wing combination for many years. However, I think that would only work in a 4-4-2 because I can’t see that you could play both as wing backs. A manager who is wedded to only one formation may not be what you need. KaKa
3 hours ago, jack j said: When you listen to the likes of neville and keane they reckon a full overhaul is needed especially with Amorims 3-4-3 system. Probably count on one hand the amount of players they'd keep Surely with psr rules they won't be able to spend another billion for a long time? Ragnick told them this ages ago and they treated him as though he was an idiot. Amorim comes across well, but the majority of their players are dullards and can't play his football. It's going to be interesting to see how it plays out, it looks like they will need a lot of new players to play Almiron's football. No idea how they will manage such an overhaul. Theregulars
The reality is that Howe’s start was just as dismal. It would be great if they continue to struggle but I’d be careful about gloating and piling in, especially when we play them twice more at least. Sibierski
How many sides over the past decade have played 3 at the back in the Prem and done well? Conte is only one in 16-17 I can think of, but he was inheriting a side that had just won the league 12 months earlier and even that came with a one season high only. So playing likes of Moses at RWB was caveated with multiple title winners, elite players in their positions such as Hazard / Kante. Feels Premier League is such in depth with sides that have good wide players, good level of coaches, midfielder runners, that a 3-4-3 is going to be exploited more often than not Amorim has ever experienced. Bar is that low for Man Utd, their fans are already happy to write off a season so can just keep talking smoothly to avoid early criticism.
